I can wait for the next Salmon Run instead. And I highly doubt I'll ever get a triple ability bonus with Murch if I actually go for it. I can get by with just purchasing the same gear over and over.

I had to work this evening. No idea about everybody else.
The idol shipping art seemed surprisingly scarce for Off the Hook, compared to the Sisters. I guess people were too busy pitting Pearl and Marina against each other to satisfy their own biases (personally, even with Marina being much more snarkier in English than she is in Japan, a change I still don't really understand, I still got the feeling that the two were close friends).
Not that I'm clamoring for it, since I usually don't do shipping, just noticing the lack of it compared to Callie and Marie.

It might also be because Pearl appears to be a bit younger than Marina, which might skeeve out some people. Also, I've heard that the recent update gave Marina some new dialogue that's more in line with her original characterization. Haven't had a chance to play enough to confirm that though.

Well, there was also the initial dislike of Pearl to take into account. You don't ship something you dislike. But there may be other reasons too. Maybe it's just not an obvious match.
People on Reddit have noted that the dialogue for Pearl and Marina has changed recently to add more affectionate moments, especially on Marina's end. Seems like a subtle change in direction on Treehouse's part.

I'm going to go out on a limb and say the 180 on Marina's personality was because of how badly turning her into Mini Marie went over with the fans.
Like bros, we already have Marie, we don't need another one.

Marie's entire single-player mode as your mission control versus Callie's three lines (as herself) and subsequent disappearance kinda feels like shafting to me. Maybe it was unavoidable given the plot, but it couldn't have been THAT much effort to have her hang out in Octo Canyon with Marie after you beat the game, right? Especially considering how depressed poor Marie is before Callie gets rescued.

Is it normally a 3-slot article? Not like Murch can deliver three abilities at once, but better than not having any chance with a lesser piece augmented by snails.
The other two I need to reimburse are Main Ink Saver and Ink Recovery Up, but I have more than one drink ticket and more than one chunk accumulated so far.
