Anyway, I think the game looks good, but am a bit confused by the idea it is Nintendo's first third person shooter. Wasn't that Custom Robo, Chibi-Robo! or Battalion Wars? Granted, those were nothing like this but that's probably because Nintendo has splashed in these waters before, so to speak.
That's why he wants you to have the money. Not so you can buy 14 Cadillacs but so you can help build up the wastesChibi Robo was an adventure game, wasn't it?

Chibi-Robo! is classified as a Platformer/Adventure title.
Battalion Wars could be classified as a third person shooter because it had elements of it but it is also a Real-Time Tactics game.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureFine, I suppose I could mention other games, but I won't. I will just say it is weird they are going with the "pro controller" over Wii-mote+nunchuck. That combo does away with the two stick aiming issue people have with consoles. I'm surprised we did not see more shooters on the Wii and DS.
That's why he wants you to have the money. Not so you can buy 14 Cadillacs but so you can help build up the wastesAs for a Nintendo-made game that's pretty much a standard third-person shooter, there's Metroid Blast.
Helpful Scripts and Stylesheets here. How much does a Wii U cost now?
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceDepends on where you get it. In store bundles I think cost $300, but you can get refurbished ones from Nintendo directly for $200.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.Perfect. I'm halfway to the Nintendo one, too bad they won't take real cash online.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceI've seen Wii U-s sold at 240€ at some department stores. Suppose that is pretty reasonable for a home console that isn't last gen.
I'm not European.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceEh, change it to $ and you get pretty much the same number, though not value when speaking of internatinoal currencies.
It's odd, the $ has less value than the €, yet something thats sold for 500$ is just bumped into 500€ half the fucking time it's sold over here.
Western Europeans generally have more money than Americans. The price is higher because we can afford it.
Well I'm not a marine biologist, but I see sea creatures with tentacles, and so I group them.
Based on those responses, this game seems to have a lot of potential to follow the TF 2 formula with Squid-themed hats. Seems like a great opportunity for DLC.
Look, you already made the game in english, which 90% of us have a grasp on, so instead of dicking around for 9 months, give us the damn thing.
What do you mean europe isn't getting -insert anticipated "very japanese game" that sold well in all regions here, including europe-'s sequel?! We bought the original a lot too!
And before the PS One, we didn't even know what Final Fantasy is, due to Square hating us.
We have money, publishers! It's yours if you would give us stuff to buy!
Fricken region locking on everything nowdays....
Maybe we should have a separate thread on region locking so as to not disrupt the squidding.
Lampshade Hanging: It's a lifestyle.Sorry, it's just something of an annoyance, and I'm sort of iffy about importing anyway...
SO! SQUIDS!
... So, how many different characters have we seen so far? Do you think they'll start have gameplay differences, in a class-system-sort-of-way, down the line?
Everyone was the same in the E3 build gameplay-wise. I imagine the differences will mainly be in the weapons rather than being class-based like TF 2 or something.
For Those who Seek the Thrill of Death: A Dramatic SMT3 Hard PlaythroughWell yes, I noticed they all played the same at E3. Though I wonder, are players randomly assigned an appearance, or do they get to pick?
If we get to pick, the possibility of appearance customization lingers in the air. Probably in the form of small accesorries if anything.
I think they mentioned in one of the Treehouse interviews that yes, Inkling customization is planned; and I think the final product will also have some sort of loadout or class options.

If Nintendo did its own version of Namco Bandai's Shifty Look and have webcomics based on Nintendo properties, one of the properties would be Splatoon and Nintendo could reach out to Masahiro Anbe to do the art for that webcomic.
The man has already proven that he's capable of such a task.
I don't know if we've finished making comparisons with Splatoon and Squid Girlnote , but yeah, I thought it'd be a great idea if that were to happen in the future.

Nintendo is still pretty behind the times, especially No J, they'd probably think it would be stealing from them somehow.
That artist did draw the characters in a nice anime style, but if you look at the characters as they look in the game, they're anime-esque, but still look more original. Nintendo's characters, mostly, aren't just typical anime. They look different. And that's one thing I like a lot about them.
