This particular video game project caught my eye while I was browsing around Kickstarter. Pale Blue is a 2D stealth-action side-scroller from an Indonesian game studio called Tinker Games that is planning to be released on PC in 2015, with other platforms such as PS 4, Mac, Xbone, Vita and Wii U being considered.
In the words of their project page, "Why is it that the villains never give up but would rather keep fighting to achieve their wicked and cruel plans no matter how many of their fellow comrades have died at the hands of the superheroes. So many monsters and evil creatures sacrifice their lives to achieve their organization's goal. The mere reason "they do that just because they're evil" no longer suffices to answer our questions. We kept wondering, why would they willing to risk everything to take on the world? What kind of stories are hidden linger behind those monstrous eyes and evil masks?"
I for one, am heavily intrigued with the premise of playing as Ellen (the Villain Protagonist of the game) and taking out superheroes. I am also curious in how Tinker is going to handle the development of their characters and why Ellen chose to stay and succumb to evil rather than escape and become a superhero with her powers.
Toku fans are going to love this game in particular, as the designs of the superhero bosses as well as the organization the protagonist Ellen is part of reflect heavy influence from shows like Kamen Rider and Super Sentai. I can also imagine people who enjoyed playing Dungeon Keeper and the [PROTOTYPE] games loving this game, as it will also place you in the shoes of an outright villain.
Out of a $48,000 goal, they have raised $11,864 at the time of this post and I for one am more than ecstatic to support this project. Click here for the link if you're interested in supporting the game.
