Neat.
I have a friend that's really been looking forward to this.
That'll make that one event more interesting.

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaireWell, it's official. I have until next year to scrape together the money for a One.
...-got a One for Christmas-
That is the face of a man who just ate a kitten. Raw.Ditto
Gotta love those aunts and uncles you don't see for a decade at a time :P
Well, June 6, you can buy an Xbox One sans Kinect for $399.
It's nice to have an announcement, of which the game was obvious since before Halo 4, but it is still really vague on what they are actually doing. We'll get something at E3, but it's impossible to know what they mean by "larger scope" and "take full advantage of the console" with the actual game. The brand new game engine is interesting, as (to my knowledge) all previous games was a proprietary in-house engine that were upgraded in between each installment, except for ODST which did only mild changes to the Halo 3 engine.
Rumors are there will be RPG elements, but I hope it is only something along the lines of what Halo 4 did, minor modifications to customize play style like a longer sprint time or carrying extra ammo/grenades but not something that radically changes the core Halo gameplay like upgrading your shield strength or melee damage. It's perfectly fine in other games, I love the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer, but the main Halo series should always be a FPS.
I personally think it should be unlimited sprint time.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."That Spartan at the top looks like it may be a female, and the armor is quite futuristic looking. Perhaps it's Sarah Palmer, and both her and Chief will be co-op protagonists?
Sorta matches her Rogue armor.
Ugh, do not want.
They said outright it is a new character. Palmer has never come across as someone being set up as a replacement protagonist/player character, if anything Gabriel Thorne would be the more likely candidate IF it was an already introduced character.
On another note, The Master Chief Collection is apparently a thing. FOUR Halo games remastered for next gen, that will most definitely be appreciated.
Yeah, it's not Palmer; according to the devs, "He's a new character." One idea I've seen kicked around a little (and I may have contributed to) is that Chief goes rogue, and the Spartan at the top is one of the team sent to hunt him down (thus, the prominent ONI logos on the armor). We may even shift perspectives between them, a la Halo 2.
That would be cool. Granted, this might call into question WHY we should complete the "hunting down the Chief" Spartan's missions, as obviously that would only cause more trouble for ourselves while we're Chief.
Make them morally complex, with the protagonists genuinely believing they're doing the right thing (at first). Make it juuuuuust believable that they're right, and I think people would play along with it. Or, have them take place after the Chief missions, where they're basically chasing him across space, and not really catching up until the very end.
Devil May Cry 4, Prototype2 (not the best example), and... more, I'm certain. Hunting down the protagonist from the last game.
Or if you want a more literal answer, well, it'll be like Halo 2, where you switch-off between Chief and the new Spartan between levels, or checkpoints, seeing how games work these days.
I don't know where you guys are getting the idea that the C Hief is being hunted, if there's any actual lead-up for that from the Spartan-IV/Infinity Ops campaign that I didn't play - but I like the idea.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!It's all but confirmed that they are going to be playing with different perspectives, but that could either be like Halo 2 where you shifted between different stories (that only connect peripherally) or something more like ODST where you are piecing together parts of the same story. If this new Spartan has a similar arc to the Arbiter, abandoning ONI halfway through the story when they get more information on their mission, that would be worth it. Regardless, Master Chief IS the face of Halo and it should still be his story.
I will say I don't like the subtitle, not only does it come out of nowhere but is also really bland.
Would want but can it haz ODST and Reach too? Or am I gonna have to wait til after Halo 6?
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."Seeing as it's called the Master Chief Collection and says 4 games total, ODST and Reach won't be included.
I'm surprised they are including Halo 4 in the package, not because it isn't part of MC's story but that the game came out less than two years ago and is basically the epitome of last gen console games, having an early next gen remaster/port is kind of pointless.
Although it does beg the question of what exactly all this entails. Are they are doing a straight port, a remaster like they did with Combat Evolved, which was prettier in HD but not up to contemporary games graphics-wise, or a full on Updated Re-release with some nip and tuck to the gameplay? Considering how vapid the Dual Wielding was in 2 and 3, I wouldn't mind the feature taken out entirely and upgrade the dual wielding weapons to be more useful when used single.
Regardless, the Scarab fight in Halo 2 would be glorious in true HD.

I would have fixed the Dual Wielding in 2 and 3. Made the weapons that could do it work well when alone but even better when showing off two.
"Allah may guide their bullets, but Jesus helps those who aim down the sights."There's a tool on the sidebar (customize wikiword). I've done that for you. (It needs to be okayed by a moderator before it takes effect.)
The one thing that kind of bums me out about the Master Chief Bundle rumor is that it kind of makes it unlikely that they're going to do the new-engine rebuild of 2 that I was hoping for; it'll probably be more in line with CEA.
Ugh, but of course.
