Mythril Aces (Re)Union: Real Robot RP Discussion Thread

I did ask in advance, Fantasy. I'm not stupid.

It should be clarified; They are mooks in a ground based fight. We don't really have rules for when you are on foot and it seems alright to freeform things a little, with low level mooks being a fair enough thing to autohit in a swarm.

Don't be too harsh Des, people can leap ahead and do this thing so it merits pointing out when it happens. I don't know if you guys have common history, but if you don't, I'd let it slide.

If you're referring to the hoops Rick has to go through to get a frame, that's just because I was joking around with Faux on Skype about Fergus ordering the wrong frame and we just rolled with it

I guess in a way this has been a long time coming, and nobody's likely to be surprised. At this point, though, I feel like I can't go on pretending that this will be able to continue. Mythril Aces, or at least my time as GM, is going to come to an end.

My life has gotten way more complicated than it was years ago, back in highschool when I first started this RP. For that matter, it's gotten more complicated than it was nearly ten months ago and I agreed to restart it. As much as I love this setting and playing and writing through it with you all, I just... Don't have the time for it anymore. Even when I do have time I'm so exhausted and stressed that writing is pretty much the last thing on my mind, between my career and my education. Getting sick towards the beginning and missing a month didn't help much either. I'm not pretending anything - this is my fault.

It's not fair of me to make you wait longer and longer times for me to post, and at this point I've got to admit the inevitable. Running this RP has been a blast - you're all some of the best writers and roleplayers I've ever interacted with, and I wouldn't take back this game for anything. I just wish I could have kept it together long enough to get through the RP. Heck, I didn't even get to kill any of you, except an AFK Neo.

I don't own any of this - to be honest, you all wrote most of the setting anyways, especially Faux. Feel free to use it as you wish - if you want to make another RP, be my guest. I can share all my notes and details with anyone who wants them to use.

Thank you for joining me on this journey, pilots. I'm going to miss you.

I'm not really surprised to see it go but I am a little sad. I wasn't able to do much in the RP but it looked really promising.

Thanks for running this while you could, Hydrall. It was great getting the band back together, as it were.

I've been talking with Hydrall for a while egging him on to keep it going, but honestly, I think this move was for the best. It got the point where the poor guy was exhausted by the concept of posting and had to force it out of himself and that doesn't lead to a fun game for anyone, sadly.

It was good times while it lasted and Hydrall has my respect for all he did behind the scenes.

I've considered it, but we'd need at least a few months of downtime since I lack the ressources and the downtime to learn how to use all of Hydrall's ressources, flesh out the encounter (Both of us are bad at keeping extensive written notes) and etc while the School year continues.

If there's sufficient interest and I'm able to, I am taking the next year off academically (starting in April/May) and will instead by working a regular job which will be easier to juggle.

In which case, I can send out P Ms and try to pick this off from where we left it or reboot it. A light reboot will probably be necessary so I can get a handle on things but I'd like to keep it as close to reunion as possible.

Also I feel like all this rebooting might be tarnishing the game. Maybe we'd be off with more of a spiritual successor than a straight-up reboot, so that the memories of Mythril Aces itself remain intact.
