Stevie Wonder vs Wonder Woman... wha...
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!It's no more random than Napoleon Dynamite Vs Napoleon Bonaparte really :-P
And now a Rap Battle that makes a little more sense: Tony Hawk vs Wayne Gretzky
God damn it, I can't decide who won this one.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I wasn't sure until Gretzky's last verse. He killed it.
It's been 3000 years…... I have no idea who these people are.
Really? I can understand Gretzky if you're not American or don't care about sports, but I figured everyone would know Hawk from his video games at the very least.

I know Tony Hawk, but mostly because of the video games, the local skaters in my area, and that one time he appeared on Rocket Power.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I know Tony Hawk. Literally all I knew about Gretsky was from a Lonely Island song.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I didn't become aware of Gretzky until I watched Everybody Hates Chris. There was a character who was a big Wayne Gretzky fan.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?God I feel old...
I have plenty of Pop Culture Osmosis on both of them though I don't pay attention to sports. Granted I am Canadian, and Western Canadian no less.
I'm from Arizona, and I know both of these guys. I mean, my cousin is a famous skateboarder, so that explains one of them, I guess...
I only knew of Wayne because his name is part of the trope Gretzky Has the Ball
I'm a little saddened that so few people know who Wayne Gretzky is...

Come ooooooonnnnnn this is a perfect match-up and they both have plenty of flaws to lay into each other with.
I'M MR. MEESEEKS, LOOK AT ME!I still want 'Weird Al' Yankovich vs Mel Brooks.
Surprise interception by Spike Jones of the City Slickers!
Fresh-eyed movie blogHow in the fuck do so few people know of Gretzky?

He retired in 1999, for one. Hockey isn't as popular in the US now as it was then, and I suspect the people who are active on these forums, who are familiar with ERB, who are old enough to remember Gretzky playing, and who are fans of professional hockey/sports in general isn't a huge overlap.

I was taught him in school. He was spoken of as one of the best hockey players in the same way Babe Ruth and Michael Jordan were spoken of as among the best baseball and basketball players, respectively.
Sure, and deservedly so. I'm just saying I could see how kids who don't care about sports, growing up in parts of the US where hockey doesn't matter wouldn't know who he is.
They *should* know, though, and that's where videos like this come in handy.
I was 5 when he retired and I consider sports annoying things that interrupt normal TV schedules but our school readings in Elementary School kept referencing him as this guy who was the greatest and hockey or is, it's not like they were written the year of.

Beisball and Football are the most know sport while Hockey fell with basketball into the whole "I know some/I dont give a shit" zone. for many is just weird hobby for some people.
