Dang it, I was just about to make this topic.
Anyways. Holy crap, does this look awesome. I'm just glad that they are taking the BOII route instead of the Ghosts route. Power armor and Spider-Man gloves are always welcome after all.
Either way hopefully it has saner PC requirements than Ghosts did; I already dropped more than the cost of an Xbox One on building my PC and I'd rather not feel like I undershot.
"Yup. That tasted purple."From the looks of it, it does seem like the requirements, should they be high, will probably be much more justified. Sledgehammer, from what I've gathered, was given three years to work on this game. Hence why it actually looks like a leap forward for the series. It really seems like they are trying to Win Back the Crowd with this one, much like Treyarch did with Black Ops II.
In any case, I am so pumped! Again, Power Armor! Mechs! Spider Man Gloves! Kevin Spacey as the Villain! Parkour Action!
Hey, I actually feel a little pumped here after that. :D
"I do not approve of the fact that my favorite quotes are too long for this character limit." - MeCould be a pip, but I'm definitely waiting for impressions before getting this one. So burnt by Ghosts.
this place needs me hereWell hey, this isn't being made by the ghost of IW, so there's that. Plus, it actually looks like they are trying to make it unique by going even further with the sci-fi setting than even BOII.
And of course people are bitching about that because it's not the same.
After bitching because the previous games were too similar to each other.
"Yup. That tasted purple."
True, but Sledgehammer has yet to prove themselves. I hope it's good, 'cause I'd like there to be at least two competent Call of Duty devs out there, but I'm not going to go buy it on a whim. I hoped Ghosts was good, but, aside from Extinction, I hated it.
this place needs me here"Advanced Warfare"? Kinda sounds like the first Co D game for Game Boy Advance.
Either way, it looks cool and I might check it out.

So, this is basically Kevin Spacey's character from the American remake of House of Cards rammed into a Call of Duty game?
I'm so down for that. Ish.
Advanced Warfare? Wow, it sounds like a parody-
-watches trailer-
...okay, now I'm hype. It's probably not gonna be as good as I'll think it will be, but I'm pretty hype.
Kevin Spacey is gonna be President Evil and the big bad in this game, calling it now. Hell he doesn't even try to change the southern twang he had from House of Cards, he's basically Frank Underwood!
Apparently, he's the head of a PMC.
But anyway: Mech suits! Power Armor! Jetpacks! Wall-crawling gloves! Invisible VTOL Helicopter-thingies! HOVERBIKES!
For anyone that watched the attached video regarding PM Cs... did they find the "fact" of G 4 S Security being an actual military PMC kinda hilarious? I used to work for those suckers in the past, and while they do have some pretty risky contracts which require the use of firearms, they're nowhere near as well armed as what you'd see in Iraq or Afghanistan. Probably the single area in the world where G 4 S is actually heavily armed would be their African branches, and that's because of the lack of proper police or military groups to protect their clients (and at worst it's just a few dudes with SM Gs or Carbines, and maybe the occasional armored SUV).
But it's "Private Security" so it clearly counts. Even if it's charging clients for a service they have no intention of providing.

"Yup. That tasted purple."But again, the bulk of their staff consists of a bunch of guys who are paid minimum wage to stand around and give look intimidating... until you actually approach them and realize that they can't do crap, both contractually and legally, and begin to run off in fear precisely because of that reason.
And here I'd given up on Call of Duty after Ghosts.
Might actually be excited for this one
Oh really when?I see someone learned from how Battlefield 4 and Ghosts turned out. This appears fairly decent of a concept.
I've never played a Call of Duty game in my life, but hell, I'm excited for this one...mostly because of Kevin Spacey playing a Frank Underwood-esque character in it , but that's about it.

So the overriding opinions I'm seeing are people getting pissed that it's not the AU WWI game that some jackass on a pay-per-hit site said it would be, people getting pissed because it's not the MW 4 they thought it was going to be and people getting pissed because it's clearly a Titanfall ripoff.
"Yup. That tasted purple."Amazon has posted a more in-depth description of the game.
Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare envisions the powerful battlegrounds of the future, where both technology and tactics have evolved to usher in a new era of combat for the franchise. Delivering a stunning performance, Academy Award winning actor Kevin Spacey stars as Jonathan Irons – one of the most powerful men in the world – shaping this chilling vision of the future of war.
Power Changes Everything.
An Advanced World:
- Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare takes place in a plausible future in which technological progress and today’s military practices have converged with powerful consequences.
- In this carefully researched and crafted vision of the future, Private Military Corporations (PM Cs) have become the dominant armed forces for countless nations outsourcing their military needs, redrawing borders and rewriting the rules of war.
- And Jonathan Irons, the founder and president of the world’s largest PMC - Atlas Corporation - is at the center of it all.
An Advanced Soldier:
- Powerful exoskeletons evolve every aspect of a soldier’s battle readiness, enabling combatants to deploy with an advanced lethality and eliminating the need for specialization.
- The introduction of this gameplay mechanic delivers enhanced player movement and verticality through boost jumps and grappling, covert cloaking abilities, and biomechanics that provide unparalleled strength, awareness, endurance, and speed.
- With the advent of the exoskeleton and newly advanced armor and weaponry, every soldier commands tactical freedom in any terrain unlike ever before, fundamentally changing the way gamers play Call of Duty across all modes.
An Advanced Arsenal:
- Harnessing the power of next-gen platforms, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare brings players into the battlegrounds of the future by boasting a new hi-tech, advanced arsenal and ability set, arming players with all-new equipment, technology, perks, and vehicles like hoverbikes and highly specialized drones.
- Players can also choose between standard ammunition and an all-new class of directed-energy weaponry that enables totally new gameplay dynamics.
- And with exoskeletons delivering a massive force multiplier and unprecedented tactical freedom, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare evolves every firefight.
PMC?
Capita-
Um, wait. //watches video
(Corporate) Fascism, ho!
Honestly, though I hope Kevin Spacey doesn't go all HAWX "Grr! Declare war on USA! Grr!" bat guano crazy and remains a sensible -if radical, eccentric and full of stupid overtly grandiose ideals- bossman till the end.
A game where the PMC doesn't turns out to be evil. How's that for a twist.
That said, looks kinda neat.
Well, thanks to a massive leak Activision has released the trailer for Sledgehammer Games' first Call Of Duty title, Call of Duty: Advanced Warfare two days early.
I must say I'm a bit more hyped for the future aesthetic this time around compared to Black Ops II if only because they haven't half-assed it.
