I disagree.
The cartoon is relevant because it is funny as fuck even if you don't know anything about the time period.
(And since when did relevancy become an indicator of quality?)

"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."A long long time ago, when people didn't want to revisit the past and everything new was automatically considered good.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.what Aldo said.
She/they. Hirrus Clutumnus is my comfort characterI mean, I watched it the other day for probably the first time since childhood (dunno if I ever actually saw it as a kid, but I'm sure I did at some point since I saw a lot of Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies on TV), and I thought it was pretty friggin' funny. And it honestly might be up there for me as one of my favorite Mel Blanc performances.
And either way "I'LL STEAL IT! NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW!" is forever burned into my brain now.
EDIT: Just decided to rewatch it on a whim now, and I still love it, was giggling like a maniac throughout. The comedic timing on most of the jokes and gags is near perfect.

Insert witty 'n clever quip here. Here's one of the most memorable moments in Cartoon Network history... Craig Mc Cracken winning the World Premiere Toon-In via the swimsuit competition!
Let it not be said he has no dignity...
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."Good god, he got fat.
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I've never seen that, too awesome. XDD
At least he got a haircut.

The whole thing is available on the PPG first season DVD... as well as SGC 2 C volume 3, but that one has no clips from the cartoons. The PPG one is uncut.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."To my knowledge, I've never seen a Youtube poop.
The Dover Boys (at Pimento University) is indeed one of Chuck Jones' best cartoons. It's pretty, it's funny as all hell, and it's a different kind of funny than just about any other kind of cartoon out there at the time (or, heck, out now). It's droll, it's knowing, it manages to parody a genre of fiction (that was old fashioned at the time, it should be pointed out) without mocking it. It's visually funny and verbally funny as well. For some reason I've always found "Oh, so you haven't been thrashed enough yet?" to be hysterical, as is the perfectly realized "A runabout! I'll steal it! NO ONE WILL EVER KNOW!"
Jones got a lot of crap from the other WB animators for being, in their opinion, pretentious, but I've always found his work to be very approachable. He did have a different sense of humor from most of the other guys at Termite Terrace, and I guess that made him a bit of an odd man out.

Just the name, "Youtube Poop" turns me off from wanting to check any of those out. I think I watched one once and wasn't amused.
Good god, he got fat.
It was either him or Genndy T.
Yep, I'm still here.As someone who's in the You Tube Poop community, thanks for proving that You Tube Poops are fucking dead now.
I tried to tell You Chew, but they didn't listen. The fact that TV Tropes have never herd of them/never even liked them even when they where popular in 2008ish area just puts some salt in my wound.
Doesn't help with the crappy Copyright laws and how hard to find GOOD YT Ps....
I miss YT Ps :(
I don't like YT Ps either.
As for this new show, I'm not too hopeful about it.
Ya, I'm weird like that...Interesting news on the PPG reboot front:
Also, it's getting a second season because existence is painful and meaningless.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."That's...possibly terrible news, it could mean more rap.
Otherwise, that's good news.
YO. Rules of the Internet 45. Rule 45 is a lie.I mean CN busted a proverbial money nut advertising this thing, they've at least gotta get their money's worth out of it (the advertising, not the pennies they threw at the animation staff).
Didn't Tom Kenny say Mc Cracken gave it his blessing?
Have you any dreams you'd like to sell?I think he might have heard it hearsay.
In any case, we have proof it isn't true above.
"They say I'm old fashioned, and live in the past, but sometimes I think progress progresses too fast."x7 I'm confused, I didn't mean to insult anybody who worked on YT Ps, they just weren't my thing. And the name always made me uncomfortable
Eh, I used to make them myself but now I'm just so over them.
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.Use to watch a lot of YT Ps when I was new to the Internet. Still enjoy the occasional one when I'm offered it. Good ones are hard to find though and YTP is basically dead at this point.
But, let's get back on topic...even if I have nothing to add.
"Detecting trace amounts of mental activity. Possibly a dead weasel or a cartoon viewer"Do you guys remember a short cartoon called Lakewood Plaza? The cool one that CN didn't pick up?
Well apparently CN sorta revived it. It's under a different name, but there are a couple minisodes from earlier this year. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SM6W8Oj-L3c
Okay, well it has a different name on Wikipedia and a few other places at least.
Yeah, the game was pretty cool.
I still feel like they're planning on reviving it, considering the fact that there are plans to shuffle out Uncle Grandpa, Regular Show, and Adventure Time sometime in the next few years, maybe some of the other shows, so they'll need new shows to fill the holes.
From what I've heard Long Live the Royals and Mighty Magiswords are getting full series upgrades (no idea how that's going to work), so it's possible that Lakewood Plaza could get an upgrade to full series as well.
I thought they did pick it up for a full series? Isn't that the reason Ian J. Q. left Steven Universe?
Insert witty 'n clever quip here.
It's a spoof on a book series that hasn't been popular for the good part of like 80 years. It's not very relevant today except for the animation.
