The brightness of the tail, combined with the fact that Cincinno still appears to be facing Snivy, makes the current image rather difficult to read correctly. 2 is definitely an improvement, although I do find the dialogue a bit distracting.
2 is a bit better.

I've put 2 up and potholed it, didn't tag since consensus here is weak.

I don't really have any trepidations about 2. It's about as clear of a tail-whack as you can get, I feel, and certainly better than the old glowy-tail image (which I'm posting below for posterity), simply because the tail still stands out fairly distinctly from the speed lines/shockwave/whatever here, whereas there it all melded together.

This would be a good illustration if it weren't for the fact that the tail is glowing so white you can't actually make it out in the picture. (Cinccino's mildly anthropomorphic stature doesn't exactly help either.) Any ideas for something clearer?
