Freddie Fish, Pajama Sam, SPY Fox, Putt-Putt, ALL of them are coming. Apparently when Atari died, a much cooler company acquired the license. Perhaps a new game could be in the future?

Now we just pray for the backyard sports games...

Oh mang I loved those

I doubt I've realized all the Spy Fox jokes that flew over my 10-year-old head yet.

As great as this is, so sad no Backyard Sports. Those would be instant buys for me.

The Backyard Sports IP isn't owned by the current owners of Humongous, so they ain't coming out. I still have all the original discs for the Putt-Putt games (only ones I ever played), so I don't think I'll buy it all again, shit.

So what do you think Night Dive/Tommo is going to do with the IP(s)? Just sit on all of it, or try something new with it?

From my perspective they have 4 options with what to do: 1. Make another educational thingy for today's kids (Probably not likely)

2. Make some kinda new dark snarky Self-Parody point and click one that targets the people who grew up on the originals ("Putt-Putt Goes to Hell" anyone?)

3. Grimdark reboot (This is never going to happen, but you never know)

4. Just leave it all as is and don't try to screw anything up (This probably what's actually going to happen TBH)

Also now that I think of it they may make another Total Annihilation and contribute to the flustercuck of like 3 other sequels to it if they have the rights.

If anyone's going to revive HE, it's going to be Telltale.

Please help out our The History Of Video Games page.

Huh, these are the same guys that rescued System Shock 2 from copyright purgatory. Much cooler company indeed.

Telltale has kind of moved away from being the "classic adventure game reviver" since the Walking Dead. They dropped the King's Quest licence, and last I knew they didn't have plans to continue with Sam and Max (though I'd hope they will).

I'll wait for them to go on GOG, but then I'll buy them immediately.

I sure hope they someday do more Sam and Max.

Anyway, man! Spy Fox. I remember that fondly from my childhood. Some of the lines are still stuck in my head, like "A spy wihout a gadget is like a shopping cart without a broken wheel."

That, and the bit with the laser toothbrush. "Don't put that in your mouth."

I have a message from another time...

Number two of those entries are out now. Shame there couldn't have been a sale then...
