I wonder if Netflix will stream it.
I'm guessing that it's a recap movie to prep viewers for the second season, that'll be interesting.
More importantly, it looks like we'll be getting a Blame!! adaptation, probably as part of a Movie Within the Anime. Feels nice to be a Nihei fan right now.
Incidentally, we didn't catch up with last chapter's developments, did we? Three whole days. Jeez. Just, wow. The captain sure didn't let up, did she?

Speak for yourself. I've already seen the spoiler/s for chapter 68. Norio is in. Tsumugi is out.
Lazy and pathetic.^Whut, can't find those anywhere :P
You can find them on the best-known imageboard.
Lazy and pathetic.Chapter translated, really hoping she can regenerate from that That or she just lost the tail, cause seriously, shes the best character in this comic
Ch.69: Kunato is good to go. Some strange new placenta? technology is helping people grow limbs back. Kobayashi ordered mass conscription or something. Type 20 finally done.
Bump Ch. 70 scanlations are all out.
Bumping for great justice.
So if anyone here cares about the anime, Season 2/Battle for Planet Nine will be premiering next month.
Assuming Netflix localizes it as quickly as they did Season 1, they should have it available as early as July.

Aww. I was hoping they'd simulcast it like they're doing with Better Call Saul in Europe and Latin America.
Aaand its still unclear whether the best character is dead or not :P
She looks nice on volume 14 cover though.◊ Nice smile and all :D
The other PV. Interesting to note that Izana's got her cyborg arm and leg from the manga. Wonder how they'll finagle THAT, as in the end of the previous season she avoided getting shanked during the raid on the giant gauna.
Yaaaaay, Tsumugi is still alive, for the moment at least
Ya know, in normal series I'd assume that main char's previous love interest dying is reason why this danger feels real, but since of the trope were humans care less about non humans dying its kinda hard to tell if that is the reason why it feels real :P I mean, this series does subvert the What Measure Isa Non Human since due to transhuman stuff definition of what is human is rather wide, but I think my brain is wired from how fiction generally works that I keep assuming that author is going to kill her off for not being traditional cute anime girl Its weird how the brain works

That's Nihei for you. The definition of what's human is really stretched out here, to the point that it's probably a theme. Humanity has been using Gauna-derived technology just to survive, and by imitating humans, Gauna are in some sense becoming more like humans. It's almost an Hourglass Plot.
If humanity ends up getting assimilated by the Gauna, but mostly 'lives on'; or if humanity is able to become strong enough to defeat the Gauna, but in the process loses whatever made them human, would either of those scenarios be survival or a defeat of some kind?
Tsumugiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii!
I felt like I was blanking on a lot of what happened at the end of last season, then the last scene of this happened. Holy shit.
Tsuruuchi is dead.
Trying to decide, should I wait for Netflix to localize, or give in and watch S2 as we go?

And chapter were we learn that while Ochiai might be the ultimate lifeform, he really sucks in combat
Anyway, what is that thing in last panel? It looks kinda familiar... I hope it won't end up making Ochiai more threatening So it looks like it has eye that chimera tentacle body has adn its nibbling on something? But I'm not sure what that pole is but its probably something that has shown up before?
Here lies Tsuruuchi; he never photosynthesized. But seriously, well done. He was the kind of hero Sidonia needed. He'll be missed.
I think that's a mass union ship eating the converter? The converter they put near the sun to get more energy? That doesn't seem like a good thing at all.
Honestly, I'd not dismiss Tsuruiichi yet...his cockpit pod may not be transmitting life signs, but there's still an element of Never Found the Body. But I may be biased by expecting the doofus character to never get killed off.
I must say that I expected a little more from Ochiai in terms of battle tactics, but they have a point when they say he's technically not a soldier/commander, despite having some field experience. Odds seem high he's going to end up merging with that gauna on the converter...unless this turns out to be a convenient way to dispose of him by having the gauna finish him off.
