I mean, I'd say Yugioh in Space, but Fucking Yuma and his series already did that.

We need real space not just Space Demns/Angles or Yusei going into space for his ultimate card in 5Ds. Even Judai had the aliens be cards he made.

My biggest curiosity is whether they'll keep using all the summoning methods evenly, or if that was just a 20th anniversary thing and they'll go back to just focusing on one.

I'm hoping for the former myself.

Though I'm curious as to what the latest method will be myself. I'm also hopeful they'll spread out the different styles more evenly (and use more Ritual as well).

Zexal ended up being much more "Yugioh Meets Shin Megami Tensei", considering the emphasis placed in the Barian arc on Order vs. Chaos, and how both Astral and the Barians ended up foes of Yuma due to their extreme placement in the Order and Chaos sides respectively.

Nah SMT would have had the Law guys as the true villains, which it kinda did since Don was literally the embodiment of Astral Worlds selfishness, but Don's the main bad guy.

True, in the end while the Order guys tried to turn good, most of the problems originated with their puritanism and obsession with elevating their world and, eventually, their decision to send Astral to eliminate the other worlds for being "contaminated".

Chaos in comparison fits with what we know - Don Thousand despite being ostensibly a force of Chaos is an embodiment of Order's selfishness and A God Am I complex that existed there before. In a way its kind of reminiscent of SMT IV's latest installment with Lucifer and Merkabah just being two parts to one being. Fittingly, Don Thousand and Eliphas' True Ace Monsters look almost exactly alike, but embody two different flavors of unavoidable defeat.

Eliphas' monster represents the increasing fear, helplessness and "prostration" one would feel and experience as their deck depletes in the face of Order's holy authority. Metaphorically destroying every single possible resource they could bring to the fore.

Don Thousand's represents Chaos' overwhelming force, and the fact if you cannot overcome the patently absurd 100,000 attack power, you will be immediately obliterated by the end of your turn. Chaos is fundamentally a force of Social Darwinism, and nowhere is this more clear than in Don Thousand's Ace - you must overcome him with Force and superior strength if you are to survive even to the end of your turn.

The fact Yuma defeated both monsters is symbolic of him moving past simple, puritanical Order v. Chaos and finding a Neutral ending which doesn't require extreme commitment to one side or the others' ideals or excesses.

And Despite having most of the numbers managed to fight Astral to a draw in the past.

That's not really an excuse though? If Z-Arc is getting revived that means all the Yu boys have become one so why only fight for Yuto and Yuya but not Yugo or Yuri? I understand that Yuto is Shun's best friend and Yuya helped Kaito come to terms with his feelings but that's not an excuse to focus on only saving them and not the other two.

Yugo needs more friends.

Yugo only has Rin, who's currently gone, so I can get why there's more focus on Yuya and Yuto. It sucks for him, but yeah.
