Why is it a problem if it's a fake?
I am not sure if I understand the current, though.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBecause I thought that fakes were discouraged. Pretty sure I've seen faked images cut before.
Also, the joke on the current image is that two Jeopardy! contestants supposedly can't identify a blue video game character who goes fast, and offer "hilariously" misspelled takes on other VG characters.
Come to think of it, now that I've described it, the image seems kind of poor by that merit alone, fake or not.
Yeah, it's not great; nevertheless Keep Until Better Image Suggested.
Rhetorical, eh? ... Eight!I think it's just stupid. How the hell would anyone know of a (easy to spell and based on real words/names) videogame character's name, but not know how it's spelled? (Zorldo, Dankey Kang, seriously?) Seems very amateurish. I say pull. I won't miss it.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed. It's not a great image by any means, but it does illustrate the trope, so I don't know if we should pull without a replacement.

Reaction Image RepositoryVery weak, but I'm voting Keep Until Better Image Suggested for now.
I opened this thread in part to fish for alternate image suggestions. Anyone got any?
Definitely needs a new image. Before I read the text of the page, the image made me think it was about the proliferation of fake things like the image in question. The context of "people not knowing things about pop culture" was initially lost on me.
So it looks like we're getting a weak consensus to pull the current image. I still have no idea what would be a good replacement.

Aren't memes supposed to be insta-pulls?
That refers to stuff like image macros and exploitables.
Reaction Image RepositoryWhat about a screencap of Captain America's list of things to check out in The Winter Soldier?
Don't know. Try to find it.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed.Nope. It's just a list. There's no context to go off of.
Image Source. Please update whenever an image is changed. There is context when you compare it to the changes made to the to-do list for the British theaters.
Note how the Berlin Wall, Steve Jobs, and I Love Lucy have been replaced with◊ The Beatles, Sean Connery, and Sherlock.

Then it becomes two lists. You need the scene in order to understand it.
For the record, the last 5 items are the same worldwide, but the first items change in every region. Also, apparently Steve hasn't already seen Star Wars in Britain, but has in the US.

The sad, REAL American dichotomyClocked this thread for inactivity.
"It's Occam's Shuriken! If the answer is elusive, never rule out ninjas!"Clock's up; locking for inactivity. No action is to be taken based on this thread.
The current image is clearly a fake (see here). Aren't we discouraged from using fakes as images?
I don't have a replacement suggestion offhand, but I'm open to others.
