60s and 70s?
Rock and jazz you say?
This sounds like my kinda party. Whatcha need exactly?
Oh really when?Anything. The longest list that the collective knowledge of the tropers can compile.
Jimi Hendrix Best guitarist who ever lived.
That's just the ones off the top of my head from 60s rock.

Oh really when?60's and 70's is okay, but I also want some more modern rock. I can't stand it when they play only one genre all night.
Most of what I can suggest is indie music, which may make it tough. But here goes.
The Heartless Bastards. Solid blues-rock band.
The Detroit Cobras. They're a garage rock band who actually exclusively plays covers of classic rock and R&B. It's really good.
Florence + the Machine. Even works for slow songs.
The Long Blondes. Who just happened to pop up on my playlist, thus my recommendation. But they're a good Brit-rock band. A nice bit of darkness and cynicism to their songs.
Regina Spektor's great. She does so many different styles that you're bound to find at least a couple songs that work for you.
X-Men X-Pert, my blog where I talk about X-Men comics.Every time I hear Buddy Holly or Chuck Berry, I feel like dancing, so I recommend those two.
I feel like some funk and/or soul is in order: James Brown, Parliament ("Tear The Roof Off The Sucker" would probably be the best bet), Stevie Wonder, etc.
Earth is the only planet inhabitable by Nicolas Cage. How 'bout some Steely Dan? I think something like "Peg" or "Black Cow" could work.
As for modern rock, I can't help you there.

To pity someone is to tell them "I feel bad about being better than you."Just about any band/artist on my contributor's page list would be good contenders.
Some folks on the Internet think they're a special GIFT to the world, and others aren't. In this perspective, they're kind of right.Listen to the man with the Pink Floyd icon thing.
Oh really when?Gosh, Wolf Man 16's list of musicians are impeccable! I recommend those too.
The whole "1965" album by Afghan Whigs... New Orleans Soul/Blues meets sexy late-90s rock swagger. Highly danceable.

Guess what? I've been put on the committee!
Elvis Costello is really good too.
My school recently banned grinding, which is fine with me.
What's not okay is the fact that they're thinking about only playing 60,s-70's music. And that's where y'all come in. I need a large list I can submit of... Somewhat appropriate music, preferably hard rock or jazz, but I'm flexible on genres, that I can turn in. Can you help me out?
