It means the site mods are using their mod powers
Oh really when?Does that mean that Willbyr, in [1], is a moderator? Or does that mean he/she did something that caused a moderator to use a power on him/her?
Willbyr is indeed a moderator. We have a complete list at Know the Staff. A post in pink means that it's being posted in moderator capacity, not as a mere poster.

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanAll the moderators are listed on Know the Staff, by the way.
That is indeed the case. If you see a post that looks like that, it's a good idea to pay attention to what's in it.
Also if you will notice under Willbyr's avatar there is a shield Icon with an M. That is a moderator badge. Anyone with posts in white or pink with that badge means they are a moderator.
The Green shield with an H means they are a forum herald. A person who helps out individuals new to a particular section of the fora.

Who watches the watchmen?
Repeating my question, What does it mean when a post's background turns pink?
Here's an example: https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=13689887340A91220100&page=6#141
