The Molting Madness is an ancient godess of flaying. Her rituals require auto-flaggelation, and extremist sects have been known for creating spells that cause the skin to slough off wholesale. The godess takes the form of a many-legged cicada, a female ecorche or the hollow skin of a woman with insects pouring out of it.

Big Tam beats up Prohibition-era gangsters, and inevitably rescues the demure young daughters of well-established gentlemen. He is proficient in judo, karate, and Aikido. The fact that his name is Vietnamese, his fighting style is Japanese, and he lives in Chinatown was apparently deemed of little importance to early-Thirties Hollywood.
