Game here!

Hyrule has become a dark shadow of what it used to be. Hyrule Castle Town has fallen, and Hyrule Castle is now a mockery of what it used to stand for, twisted into a dark and oppressive form by our new "Leader", Ganondorf. Even the brightest beacon of hope, a young Kokiri boy who has rumoured to have the power to slay Ganondorf, hasn't been heard from in three years. In times like these, Hyrule needs protectors more than ever.

In Kakariko Village, a new organisation has been set up: The Hyrule Adventurers Guild, with the aim to protect the people of Hyrule from Ganondorfs forces, and to take the land back from him. Not only the people of Hyrule are involved either, with men and women of the Twili race involved as well. Even the Godesses themselves seem to want to save Hyrule: Temporal Portals are popping up all over the place, transporting people from Hyrules past and future: the Rito, the Kikwi, even the Minish, to aid the Guild.

Now the Guild is on the lookout for new recruits. Could you be the next member of the Hyrule Adventurers Guild?

Hello all, and welcome to this new RP. It's a game set in the Hyrule of OoT three years into Link being sealed by the Seven Sages. You guys will be playing as members of the Hyrule Adventurers Guild and can pick any race you want from the Zelda series.

Standard forum rules apply (no god-modding, no Autohitting, no taking control of other peoples characters) as usaual, and I swear to god, any character whose under-age (or a Kokiri) and over-sexualised will be banned on sight. The RP will have a quest based setting, with players working together to take on the different tasks handed out by the guild, and there'll also be time between the quests for players to interact and build links between their characters.

Anyway, without further ado, lets get to the sign-up sheet:

  • Name:
  • Age:
  • Gender:
  • Race: Any Race that's appeared in Zelda.
  • Appearance: Pictures or Words, whichever you prefer.
  • Personality:
  • Skills: What can your character do that others can't? Racial stuff doesn't really matter; we all know Gorons eat rocks, you don't need to put it down.
  • Equipment: What stuff do you have? A Sword? A Hookshot? A Boomerang? A Lantern?
  • Backstory: Remember that if you're characters race isn't native to the Hyrule of OoT, don't have them be from there.
  • Other: Any other stuff that doesn't go anywhere else.

  • Name: Andoro
  • Age: 23
  • Gender:Male
  • Race:Twili
  • Appearance:A Noble through and through
  • Personality: Andoro is a very odd individual. He always seems just a little off compared to anyone else, even amongst other Twili he is seen as creepy. He often spaces out in the middle of conversations, oft to the annoyance of his superiors. He has an odd fascination in the Light World and its inhabitants finding them just so... interesting. He is incessantly curious about nearly everything to do with the Light World and holds a childlike awe of the sheer newness of everything compared to the Twilight Realm.
  • Skills:
    • Twilit Sorcery:
      • Minor telekinesis: Lift inanimate objects up to the size of a large dog
      • Hammerspace: Can store objects in a subspace to lessen weight burdens
      • Twilit Transformation: Can transform into one of the Shadow Messengers for when he is required to join close combat, however the form is a great strain on his body and he can only maintain it for short periods of time
      • Twilight Bolts: Can fire bolts of sorcerous energy that inflict either direct damage or a sense of primal, blood-freezing fear
    • Twilit Physiology:
      • Can pass through small spaces by separating his body into twilight particles
      • Tires quickly in direct sunlight
      • Can hide inside a willing being's shadow
  • Equipment:
    • Armor
    • Helm: A knockoff of the legendary Fused Shadows. Enables him to survive sunlight and use more powerful sorcery
    • Staff: A focus for his Sorcery
  • Backstory: He was a messenger sent through a newly discovered backdoor of the Twilight Realm to announce to Link and Zelda that Midna would return once the doorway was fully stabilized. However due to the unstable nature of the door he was thrown back through time to the era of the Hero of Time and has been stranded there ever since.
  • Other: The sheer alienness of the Twili is disconcerting to most races, particularly those who know of their history and his own peculiarities have ensured that he has been quite alienated since his arrival and has several warrants on him due to his having to steal food several times

  • Name: Gurr Malgia
  • Age: 22
  • Gender: Male
  • Race: Goron
  • Appearance: Like this but with his hair being black, his belly more flat, and his arms not so utterly, totally stacked. I'd guess he's 6'6''? (What? You know how few options I have for Goron pictures?)
  • Personality: LOUD. Simple. He's not the brightest bulb, but kind-hearted enough. He does not like people who think that they are better than other people. He's boisterous and friendly, perhaps what some would even call clingy.
  • Skills: He can hookshot real good. Also punching. And kicking. And headbutting. Jumping. Rolling.
  • Equipment:
    • Longshot
    • Longshot
    • Loincloth
  • Backstory: Excerpt From The Autobiographical Legend of Gurr: Gurr didn't want to be a miner like everyone else, he wanted to be an adventurer and save pretty princesses and ride horses. But Gurr became a miner because Gurr was a Goron, and Gorons are miners. One day Gurr found shiny rocks when mining, and he snuck out of Goron City to use them to go buy things from a friendly traveling merchant. He bought two fancy chain things. When he went back to Goron City, he found that everyone had left without telling him. Then Gurr left too. Gurr left and became an adventurer Goron like he always wanted to.
  • Other: He has his own story in his head, The Legend of Gurr that he can spend hours talking about. There's... not a lot in it. But he'll talk about it.

I'll join as a Wind Waker race.

• Name: Ryoli

• Age: 20

• Gender: Female

• Race: Rito

• Appearance: Tall, around 5’8”, but surprisingly light for her size. Long dark hair with white tips and pointed ears. Dark colored, piercing looking eyes and a sharp, hooked yellow nose. Her skin is also heavily tanned looking. Wears a deep purple long sleeved tunic with the Zora symbol on it, wrapped with two belts in an X-shape, and a pair of baggy purple pants and her face is usually covered with a cloth from the nose down. Her shoes are heavily wrapped in bandages.

• Personality: Ryoli is serious and highly focused on things, and not very talkative. She’s task oriented and patient. Very intimidating and cold at first, but isn’t particularly mean. Putting aside her outer appearance, she likes being in groups, even if she doesn’t necessarily contribute much to the conversation.

• Skills: Flying (limited to only a short distance/ a couple of minutes if she's carrying something or someone, but can freely fly around alone) and reading the wind speed and direction, along with fishing and understanding water currents. She can also carry things and people if they aren’t too large or heavy. Can ‘’kind of’’ swim if needed, just don’t rely on it for saving any lives other than her own. She does possess a lute and can play a few tunes, but her singing is terrible.

• Equipment:

-Lute

-Grappling Hook

-Valoo's scale.

• Backstory: Ryoli came from the Adult Timeline, born on Dragon Roost Island on the Great Sea. She was raised as a fisherman instead of a post office worker, spending her days out on the water looking for fish and treasure. When her father retired, he gave her his old grappling hook and little boat for her own usage, and she set off farther and farther from her home, in search of new things and places. While out on a trip near the Triangle Islands, she go caught in a cyclone that sucked up her entire boat, and ended up blacking out. Ryoli woke up near a waterfall, with only the clothes on her back, the grappling Hook, and her instrument left. She wandered around Hyrule Field pretending to be a minstrel of some kind, covering her bird-like features to fit in better, and made it to Kakariko.

• Other: Her appearance is based off a Sea Eagle, so her wings and beak and coloring look like one.

  • Name: Mantle
  • Age: 16
  • Gender: Female
  • Race: Gerudo
  • Appearance: Mantle is a curious individual, short of height, slim of build and rarely showing even a glimpse of their skin. They wear at almost all times a close fitting tunic and pants, bandages covering their arms, legs and feet, gloves on their hands and a striking, wine red hooded mantle on her shoulders and head, with her face further hidden behind a simple mask with slightly feminine features on it. The mantle is secured in the middle by a violet jeweled brooch.
  • Personality: Mantle is a reserved and very private kind of person... she talks in short, to the point sentences most of the time, though at times she can deep in more lengthy discourses. Though near always she uses nice, polite and formal language. She's curious, driven and determined, never afraid of hard work or danger. However, she is highly insecure of the way her race is seen by Hyrule in general and thus does her best to hide being of the Gerudo at all times, even from the members of her own team. Going out of the desert and into the world, she tries to step outside of prejudice and isolation of her people while at the same time trying to keep dear the values she has learned from them.
  • Skills: Mantle is fast, agile and fit. She's also small, light and built as if with sticks which makes her a speedy and mobile warrior but one that can't take hits without being sent flying away. She's an adept climber and all around good at roguish skills like sneaking, hiding, moving silently, stealing and the like. She's also a very good jumper, capable of doing leaps which seem nearly impossible to others. She's good at archery, dueling and taking out isolated targets, however multiple enemies and reductions in mobility spell doom for her. Finally, though she rarely has a chance to show it, she's good at horseback riding and dancing.
  • Equipment: *Mantle of Obscuring: The red Mantle this young Gerudo woman wears is actually a magical artifact whose powers are concentrated on the violet jewel on the closing brooch. When activated, the garments and all clothes worn by Mantle start to meld into the colors of her surroundings, generally making her difficult to perceive and easier for her to sneak around.
  • Short Swords: A pair of short blades which Mantle sheathes low on her back, used for close range combat.
  • Bow and Arrows: Used for long range sniping. With her skills to sneak around, jump and climb, it's not hard for mantle to find a nice niche to start shooting from.
  • Deku Nuts: A bag of about 15 nuts, used to obtain an edge or make a hasty retreat the in the bright flash followed from dropping them on the floor.
  • Backstory: Mantle is truthfully a female child of the warrior race of the Gerudo named Alin, trained from her earliest memories in battle and weaned by the scorching sun of the day and frigid winds of the night in the Gerudo desert. However, more than most of her kind she looked over the horizon of their realm, to the lands beyond the shifting sands and the people within. With time, that curiosity became and overwhelming drive to visit the realm of Hyrule. She would then one day leave her kind and their isolation behind, with only a mystic of the Gerudo learning of her intentions. She was the one who gave Alin her magical mantle to keep her safe in the lands beyond. Mantle's experiences upon reaching Hyrule were not particularly good... the reputation of the Gerudo as thieves and the work of Ganondorf saw her to be mistrusted everywhere she went, to the point she decided to better become the masked being she is now instead of continuing dealing with it. Her shame at what her 'King' Ganondorf has done to the world and its people don't help matters... which is why she signed up into the adventurer's guild to try and do her part to mend the wrongs of her people and deep into her heart, to redeem the name of the Gerudo.
  • Other: Has love hate feelings for the grappling hook, hookshoot, teleporting and flying capabilities of some of the other members of the team. She's very prideful of her skills to move around while at the same time dying to be able to use such marvelous abilities and equipment. She may make quiet comments born out of envy at those using the named tools while pushing herself extra hard to get anywhere they are able to.

  • Name: Quercus
  • Age: 18
  • Gender: Male
  • Race: Deku
  • Appearance: A short young Deku with dark green leaves styled vaguely like a ponytail, Quercus stands at just about 3’6” (107cm). He wears a treebark jerkin over a rough cloth tunic the same color as his leaves and sturdy brown shoes made of leather.
  • Personality: Quercus is a fairly serious boy. He has a habit of talking or muttering to himself, gained during his many expeditions into the forest, but he tries to suppress this when people can hear him. He’s a bit selfish and is interested in helping the Guild mainly to stop Ganondorf before he razes the Lost Woods, but he knows that there’s strength in numbers and is well willing to help his fellow adventurers in any way he can.
  • Skills: Quercus is skilled at tracking creatures and people on most types of dirt and grass terrain. He’s proficient with the shortsword and is good at using distraction techniques to harry, distress, and either evade or chip away at foes. He can jury-rig snares for both animal and monster prey if he has the right materials and time to work. He’s also a crack shot both with his slingshot and with the Deku nuts his kind can spit.
  • Equipment: Bark jerkin, sturdy shortsword, slingshot, seed pouch, small rucksack with wallet, food, and a general map of Hyrule
  • Backstory: Quercus is a tracker and treasure hunter for his village deep in the Lost Woods. He loves to explore the forest, and while collecting trinkets and resources for the Business Scrubs to sell, he does a bit of ruins exploring and treasure hunting as well. Thanks to this, he’s rather handy with a blade and can take care of himself, for the most part, even – or especially – when that involves running away. He was an acquaintance of Saria’s, and her disappearance, so shortly after the death of the Great Deku Tree and Link’s departure from the forest, worried him greatly… but not enough to risk his own neck leaving the forest chasing after a kid he’d only seen a few times. So he ignored the signs, even as the Woods grew darker and colder and monsters began appearing more frequently… as long as he could keep himself and his village safe, the rest of Hyrule didn’t matter to him. Until one day, deep in the Woods, he came across a pack of Wolfos ravaging a Hylian man. After managing to scare the pack off, he saw that the man was a postman, and already turning into a Stalfos from his exposure to the Woods and his injuries. The man begged two favors from his rescuer: a quick and merciful end, and that someone with his skills join up with the Hyrule Adventurers’ Guild in Kakariko Village. Quercus granted his first request, then spent a few agonizing days thinking it over… before deciding to honor the second one, as well.
  • Other: He dabbles with playing the panpipes. Also, he thinks female Hylians look weird.

It's been fun.

[up][up] Thanks for saying man, and sorry you won't have time.

Now, to the sign-ups.

  • Andoro: Can you change the telekinesis bit so he can only move inanimate objects that are fairly small? It seems a bit OP if he can influence living creatures too. Also, what power level are the Twilit creatures? I haven't played Twilight Princess, so before I let that through, I want to make sure these things aren't mini bosses or anything. Aside from that, are you sure you're okay with your character being withdrawn and a bit antisocial? Between missions, they're'll be a lot of character interaction, and that might make it a bit more difficult.
  • Gurr: Pictures not good enough, try harder next time, bai He looks good. You're in. [tup]
  • Ryoli: Can I just get a few more details about the flight? Is it like all of the other Rito's, or like Medli's, where it's only for a limited time?
  • Mantle: What's the range of her invisibility? Is it just the clothes on her back, or does it extend to stuff she's holding, like weapons as well?
  • Quercus: He looks good. You're in. [tup]

Also, with all these dancers and guys playing musical instruments, if we can get a singer we can set up an I house band for the guild!

[up] Edited, and the Twilit creatures aren't all that strong on their own, Link can kill one with 4-5 sword strikes. They're really only dangerous in groups because if all but one have been defeated the remaining one can howl and revive all the others. In-game they're only ever encountered in groups of 3-4 and can usually be defeated rather quickly.

It's not so much invisibility as a chameleon effect, however the effect doesn't extend to the blades of her swords or the metal tips of her arrows, so to sneak at her maximum potential she must have her blades sheathed and her arrows on the quiver.

Behind door number one:

  • Name: Afya
  • Age: 30
  • Gender: Female
  • Race:Gerudo
  • Appearance: Afya is concerned with practicality above all else. Her hair is drawn up into a tight bun on the back of her head, and she wears the typical loose-fitting white cotton slip and pants of her race, suited for a desert environment. She is rather stringy by both Gerudo and human/Hylian standards, and also somewhat tall, topping out at 6'3''.
  • Personality: Afya is no fun at all. And she's perfectly fine with that. Fun is unnecessary, and leisure is time wasted that could be spent constructively. She tends to think in a "straight line is the shortest distance between two points" sort of way, and at the end of the day, as long as what she set out to do is done, she's happy.
  • Skills: Like many Gerudo, Afya is a talented thief and warrior. Unlike many Gerudo, she also happens to be a skilled weaver, even if the things she makes tends to be a little on the plain side.
  • Equipment: A pair of scimitars and a small dagger concealed in her shoe. At her side is a small pouch with lock-picking equipment and a length of rope, and on her back is a longbow and quiver.
  • Backstory: Afya was raised as a weaver in addition to the standard training, and was responsible for creating cloth for the Gerudo to wear and sell. Given her affinity for efficiency, she was rather displeased when Ganondorf appeared and declared himself king of the Gerudo people. Why bother, after all, when they had functioned perfectly well for a hundred years as a proud tribe of thieves and archers, isolated from the Royal Family and thriving nonetheless. In her eyes, Ganondorf is an unnecessary additional cog added to an otherwise functioning machine, complicating things and slowing it down, and she wants him gone as much as the next Hylian.
  • Other:Is allergic to bees. She swells up like a balloon if stung.

Door number 2:

  • Name: Tlayok
  • Age: 15
  • Gender: Male
  • Race: Zora
  • Appearance: For the most part, your typical Zora — lithe and aerodynamic, suited best for swimming. Apart from the chunk taken out of his left arm fin, that is.
  • Personality: Tlayok is best described as a hypochondriac, worried about every little thing imaginable to the point where his worrying tends to get him into more trouble than the trouble could have ever hoped to. He means well, but has a tendency to ramble on, and has issues distinguishing extraneous details from needed information in conversations.
  • Skills:For all his rambling, he is gifted with a silver tongue, and lies and persuasion come as naturally to him as swimming. He also is a skilled fisherman.
  • Equipment: Doesn't carry much on him besides his spear and his helmet. Weight is important to consider in the water.
  • 'Backstory: Tlayok was more or less forced onto the road by his siblings, ashamed that their youngest broodmate was so sheltered. The gash on his fin was caused not by any real danger, but by spending so long setting up an octorok-proof barrier made of rocks in a pool with no discernable danger that it actually collapsed on top of him.
  • Other: Has a fondness for insects, particularly beetles. Both as food and pets.

Typed these up in a hurry. Let me know if I need to fix anything.

But how many bees are in Hyrule anyway? Not that I don't like that reference or anything...[lol] I also vote for number 2. He sounds like a fun paranoid guy. The only real reason that I wouldn't pick number 1 is because we kind of already have a Gerudo with a bow and sword thing. Maybe if she fought slightly differently (like, she salvaged some Darknut armor and weapons?) , she wouldn't look like she's on Mantle's turf as much.

I'd say No. 2, cause we already have a Gerudo with a similar set-up, and we already have a few similar personalities.

Either way, they both look good. I'll add you to the list once you decide whic to use.
