Suggestion: One Person Birthday Party

Shouldn't be too hard to illustrate. The Sad bear◊ would have been perfect, but it's already in The Woobie page, so here's◊ my second favorite.

There's still plenty of good ones out there, but I don't want to clog up the suggestions.

I still prefer many suggestions over a handful or merely one, think we should maybe move the current pic for The Woobie over to this trope and get something else for The Woobie (if it needs one at all).

I think 3.4 is my favorite so far.

I like 3.2 the most.

3.4 is my favorite too I also like the position of the knife and the implication of what he might be contemplating doing with it.

3.3 is good too.

I was going to suggest Pinkie Pie's party of one from the episode "Party of One", but most of them just look like she's off her rocker. (I mean, she is in that scene, but I don't know if that's acceptable for the trope.)

I did remember this decidedly not-Pony image◊, however. It's a bit dark (in the storytelling sense, not visually), but a panel or two'd work.

The fact of the matter remains is, I personally feel they're all demonstrative and they are all acceptable... its just which artistic style do we choose?

I remember one of these from Paranoia Agent, but I don't have the DV Ds, can anyone confirm?

What original? I vaguely recall a trope called "Party of One" that wound up in TRS, then getting cut and sent back to YKTTW for not launching correctly... but the only image that trope had was a MLP one.

Although the presence of those animal characters (and the guy's own happy expression) makes it appear less as a One-Person Birthday Party as it is a Forgotten Birthday (or whatever the name is now)

Forgotten Birthday is really the opposite of what it sounds like.

That's why there's a TRS discussion about it.

I know (I've read that TRS discussion, actually), and that's exactly what I think the suggestion in 15 looks like - the animal characters are surprising the kid with a birthday party when he'd thought everyone's forgotten about them (and the link had stopped working for some reason, so I can't double check at the moment)

... this would most probably need a crowner...

I think the anime girl and the "Happy lonely birthday" are the best ones. Composition...focus...stuff. Not a fan of the Sinfest one—the second and third panels don't add much, the bottom panel on its own is too small, and different panel arrangements would still be using multiple images when we could use one.

Here's the "happy lonely birthday" one at wiki size with some editing to put the text in at a legible size.

it's a better version then the current of it. Still not my preferred choice.

The one under "Anime Girl #2" is Alice Margatroid, a character from Touhou. I'm not sure if she really fits, as that characterization is more of a fandom meme.
