Haven't seen any of these in a while. The trope image for Peerless Love Interest features a good-looking female wearing a tiara, and nothing more.

The trope description is vague, but seems to be about a love interest from a higher social station whom the hero does not yet know, but whom he makes it his personal quest to gain favour (based on an idealised image), even if a proper romantic relationship seems out of the question. A princess lointaine, to use the term from chivalric romance. The page could probably use some work in general. Whatever the case, in my opinion the image does nothing to illustrate any trope beyond "beautiful, young and (apparently) high-class woman".

Potential alternatives (although both may not be illustrative enough:

I'm sure there are other images out there.

You don't need to provide a link to the image. We can see it by going on the page. And she does look like a princess. Perfectly beautiful + Tiara and jewelry usually = princess. It's pretty obvious.

Now honestly, this trope is in seriously bad shape. This seems like a trope that is present in many stories with princesses (who are usually to good for the hero), but there are only a few examples on the page. Tdefinition of this trope is too vague, and another image isn't going to do anything to fix that. This needs TRS, not IP.

The trope is more than just "princess" though. I move pull as non-illustrative.

I was going to say that 1.1 is on The High Queen but you beat me to it. The current isn't a bad pic but it could be better. If we want to show a princesse lointaine, the girl who is too perfect to be obtained, she should be physically above him like on a balcony. That could represent being above him socially.

Hrm, from the name, I thought Peerless Love Interest would be a subtrope about how the Satellite Love Interest never has a social circle of her own and instead winds up spending all her time with the protagonist's. Interesting

Romeo and Juliet isn't an example though.

I added the link to the picture as a courtesy in case it gets pulled at some point. As others have already stated, the trope is about much more than "princess" (the love interest in question doesn't even have to be a princess). Judging by the name of the image, it's actually a picture of a beauty pageant winner, so not really this trope at all.

While the Romeo And Juliet picture might work on its own, the fact that the play doesn't feature the trope might make it a little confusing. If we can find a similar image that isn't Romeo and Juliet, that should do the trick.

All suggestions I've seen are rather poor on the difference between the two.

Romeo and Juliet don't work at all, because they're not an example, and far too known to get away with it.

Thought I'd bump this. If we can't agree on any particular substitute, should we pull the image anyway? I'd classify it as "bad" according to the criteria in this thread, since it is both JAFAAC and not an example of the trope in question.

I don't see how this is picturable.

I can't identify the trope in any of the suggested images. That might be because of the somewhat foggy trope definition, though.

Definitely; the current is classic JAFAAC.

Alright, the clock is up. Pulling the current for JAFAAC and locking up.
