The Simpsons examples are Glowing Eyes of Doom and not Monochromatic anyway.
The actual Village Of The Damned picture is also Glowing Eyes of Doom and Red Eyes, Take Warning.

Yeah, taking the trope name literally wouldn't be a good idea. Their eyes have different shades, which is enough to disqualify them.

The reason I like that image is the monochrome eyes (and... well, the rest of the "otherness") is juxtaposed against the human clothing he's in which makes it stand out all the more.
