Perhaps these weapons reorganize the entropy in their targets w/o adding or removing net energy?
"Show us the Galaxy Warp."Then they could just say "It heats things up to several thousand degrees" since nothing man-made could approach even one billionth of one percent what absolute hot is.
Sorry I'm nitpicking about this so much but that line broke my Suspension of Disbelief entirely.

I was unable to edit this into the last thing I posted, but I don't think they meant the head maximum of the universe when they said "maximum hot." Rather, Cisco is using a turn of phrase to play up how Heatwave's gun is essentially Captain Cold's opposite.
Or in short, the full sentence is more important than just the words "maximum hot."
And even so, the first thing I would associate it with is how things have a maximum heat before they undergo a state change, not the hottest heat that's physically possible.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Okay, that's probably what he meant. I just took Cisco's statement literally since Cold's gun is usually described as being a gun that slows things down to absolute zero instead of just shooting ice.
Moving on. What powers does Cold's Sister have?

New Earth she wore Ice Skates that created their own ice so she could skate anywhere. She also had Captain Cold's cold gun modified in the shape of a baton.
New 52 her powers are Astral Projection and Flight.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureI'm kind of surprised that Caitlin was kidnapped by an up close and personal with a cold villain without a single in-joke or odd bit of foreshadowing (or Mythology Gag, on the off chance it's not actually happening). They're showing a bit more restraint on the one-off references than previously.

Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre AdventureThe first thing that popped into my head was: "I wonder if they're going to go up against a member of Flash's Rogues Gallery or Atom's in that episode."
Then: "wait, does Atom even have a Rogues Gallery?"
And then, after looking it up: "wait, Chronos is Atom's archenemy? I wonder if they'll adapt him in some way in the future and use that to further the whole time travel plot in some way."

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain.Oh my goodness, the preview for the next episode is amazing... so ready.
I only got into this show about 2 weeks ago and it's fantastic. I LOVE Wells. And everybody. I just love everybody. It's so hard not to.
I want to give Barry a hug every time he's onscreen, and I mean that in the gayest way possible.
I've got fanfics for Frozen, Spectacular Spider-Man, Crash Bandicoot, and Spyro the Dragon.Rob: I'll have to rewatch the trailer. Help me out, because I'm less familiar with Flash's comics. Is Piper supposed to be Camp Gay, or Straight Gay? As far I saw from the trailer, he didn't seem too camp, but I'll go back.
This is a signature.Barry does refer to the Planck temperature when talking about Heatwave's gun, so yes, they actually do mean absolute hot. That's 1.4*10^32 K. There's really no analogy that can meaningfully explain how hot that it. It makes a hypernova look frigid.
So... how does it not kill everyone on the planet every time he pulls the trigger?
"War without fire is like sausages without mustard." - Jean Juvénal des UrsinsThe same reason just touching something that was just hit by Cold's gun doesn't give someone frostbite.
Dammit I had just managed to move past how stupid that was.
edit: I'm not even joking when I say that's over a billion billion billion degrees. The entire universe only achieved that level of heat for a brief moment near the big bang.

I know about Absolute Hot, and I didn't lose any disbelief, but that's just me chalking it up to Comic Book Physics. Absolute Zero should kill anyone who gets too close, right?
I guess it depends on how you define too close. I imagine most people would instinctively move away before they actually got hurt. If not then you definitely shouldn't be able to touch something right afterwards like Caitlin did.
You know, seeing Cold kidnapping Caitlin Snow and strapping her to a device, I half expected it to be what would cause her to become Killer Frost. Of course, it would have been very early, but I wonder if he will somehow be involved in this origin story, and of course if we will have the chance to see an unambiguously good character become a villain - if it happens, I supposed that there will be some relationship with the investigation on Firestorm.
Caitlin Snow? I guess it's better than Crystal Frost.
Yep. Caitlin's the Nu52 Frost, though in the show she takes some of Crystal Frost's backstory. So far, the only Killer Frost she doesn't have a piece of is Louise Lincoln (as far as I know), unless she ends up looking like her.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. On a side note, I told John everyone really enjoyed his role in Flash. His response: "That's seriously awesome, thanks!"
Firestorm and General Eiling in the same episode? That should be an interesting.
Is Linda Park anyone special? The name sounds familiar.
She is Wally West wife before the New 52. In this Barry will date her for a while.
Batman Ninja more like Batman's Bizarre Adventure
I think they said his gun went the closest to Absolute Hot that is actually possible for being a man made object.
