Dorne is a Spain analogue but it is an analogue to Moorish Spain. Its very ethnically diverse especially compared to the rest of Westeros. In the show the analogue is more pronounced because Oberyn is played by an actor of Chilean descent whereas Doran's actor is Sudanese portraying the Dornish as POC of the Ambiguously Brown variety

[up][up] Spanish are generally considered white. As are basically all Europeans with some exceptions. I'm a bit perplexed why anyone would argue differntly.

[up] That makes some amount of sense. I didn't necessarily get this distinction and the history is very different as well.

Edit: Reading up a bit on it, the historical parallels are there as well, I just wasn't familiar enough with the Go T history

Well this is the first I've heard of Spanish people being white.

I have an uncle who's Spanish and he certainly doesn't think he's white. Nor do his wife and kids.

I've heard it lots of times in reference to descendants of Spanish settlers in Latin America for instance. Last time I think in this video, calling Argentina "the whitest country in all of South America" when most of the settlers happened to be either Spanish or Italian (which I think you would also count as non-white as South Europeans?). Could be a cultural difference in what you want to call white and the term isn't very well-defined either way.

Anyway, this is getting a bit off-topic I think.

Being aware of how Dorne looks and how its populated in the TV Series, I laugh at anyone who says that the Dornish (or, at least, a very significant majority) aren't POC.

I didn't see many Dornish who would look too out of place in modern day Spain apart from outdated clothing. As I said, race has very arbitrary distinctions and I can see how people would describe Dorne as more multi-cutural than other places but I always saw them as fitting within a medieval European setting and culture with at least the implication of them being white.

I have an uncle who's Spanish and he certainly doesn't think he's white. Nor do his wife and kids.

What part of Spain is he from? Spain and Italy were cosmopolitan areas that had a lot of cultural and racial mixing. Not all of them are going to look the same.

What's more, this is completely irrelevant to Dorne, whose racial makeup is actually described in some detail. The stony Dornish have mostly Andal blood, reside in an area very close to the Stormlands, and are white. The salty Dornishmen are coastal, have the most Rhoynish blood, and are olive-skinned (including the Martells). The sandy Dornishmen live inland, and are black.

Anyway, I'm going to have to disagree that the Telltale characters are better here. At least compared to the books. Sure, a lot more of them are dicks (then again, not all of them are. The Starks, Jaime eventually, Davos, Brienne, Sam, ect.) But they're engaging characters nonetheless.

I take back what I said about not caring about the Forresters, but they haven't quite grown on me yet. Telltale can do characters really well, as seen in their other games in the last few years, so maybe I'll grow to like them more. I didn't really start caring about the ASOIAF characters until the second book, I admit.

When everyone is a dick, and the few that aren't end up brutally murdered, I don't really care how "engaging" they are (and I was never really engaged by any of the book characters but Tyrion.)

Most of the POV characters, except the Greyjoys (Theon gets better and Asha isn't the worst) and Cersei, aren't that assholish. Though Tyrion is one of the worst starting from book five.

If you mean the non-POV characters: the non-Forrester characters are pretty much horrible, aside from their allies. The game also allows you to be a dick to similar levels as the book characters.

Now the books (and show) have a gratuitous amount of rape, which the game thankfully doesn't have.

I mean, I really enjoyed the books up until book four. But by then all the POV characters were ones I actively hated (Theon, Cersei) or ones I just didn't care about.

Even the few side and POV characters that weren't complete dicks either got very little focus, or were just kinda... boring.

This really is an entirely subjective thing. I can't make you see why I like and care about this game's cast more than the books anymore than you could do the opposite.

Well that I can agree on. Books four and five weren't so great, most of the characters included.

So I jsut completed it.

I tried to stab Ramsay because he's an asshole.

Killed the pit fighter

The traitor was Duncan and his motivation made perfect sense since I played Rodrick as a Hot-Blooded, defiant, and aggressive. I'm curious what his excuse for turning on Rodrick would be if I had capitulated every step of the way. I also can't really see any scenario where Royland turning on the family makes sense. So I guess that my playthrough was the only way this twist makes sense. I imagine people who did it differently might be pretty pissed at the Shocking Swerve. I killed the guy because I've wanted to since the beginning.

I left Asher behind. Rodrick feels like the main character of the story, so it seemed right that he'd be the one to finally finish the Whitehills. Plus, the pit fighters only followed Asher because they viewed him as a badass. Rodrick is one too. He shouldn't have too much difficulty leading them. Also, I like Rodrick more.

Apparently I'm also terrible at politics, so I just decided to do the exact opposite of what my instincts tell me to do in KL. I was totally honest with Tyrion.

Is there STILL no news on the final episode's release date? Tales from the Borderlands is getting its final episode next week and I'm shocked we have heard just about nothing on Go T.

I think they're probably trying to hype up Minecraft a bit more. Game of Thrones will probably be a few weeks after Borderlands.

I kind of feel like that's bs. Game of Thrones is there biggest liscence title. They should have finished their current two series and then hyped up Minecraft. Game of Thrones kind of feels forgotten. I know I forgot about it considering Telltale has been all 'Have you heard about Minecraft yet???' recently.

I actually bought the series last month expecting the last episode to be almost out. I'm not sure why they're starting Minecraft before finishing the two they had already. I don't have an issue with Telltale doing two series a year, or even with having the next two series queued up for right after the previous two end. But at least finish the series before starting the new ones.

They probably just wanna make sure they have something for people to be excited for after GOT and BL are done.

Minecraft has been announced for ages. My issue isn't with them hyping it, it's with them releasing it before the other two are finished.

Like, it takes away from the finales of the two games they've been doing all year.

What I'm saying is, they want to end GOT and BL and also have people anticipating the next episode of Minecraft.

[up]Why? You're spreading your hype base so thin by then.

They should be hyping up the finale of Borderlands and Game of Thrones. ESPECIALLY Game of Thrones since its their biggest liscence with probably the most money put into it with 6 episodes over the usual 5 and Big Budget Big Name Actors (Natalie Dormer, Lena Hadley, Peter Dinkledge) in their cast.

Its easy enough to split your hype between two games with Telltale's release schedule; One episode comes out and there's a 2 months wait for the next one while the other series has an episode released in between the two.

But throwing a third brand new title out there and not even having any comment or anything as to the other series... Doesn't bode well. It feels like a child who drops the other toys for the shiny new one.

I feel they should have finished Borderlands off, then set Game of Thrones to finish in November, with Minecraft to come out just in time for the Holiday season and all the little kiddies will be wanting the gift that keeps on giving for an entire year.

I know, to some extent, Telltale's work schedule may not work that way, but it does mean they can get started on the next episode and put some nice polish and detailing on Minecraft during those additional months, right? And one of their biggest fan complaints is that their '2 month' cycle is not exactly accurate.

Also, Minecraft and Borderlands/Game of Thrones are mostly aimed at two completely different audiences. The amount of people who are super hyped for Minecraft and also waiting on the endings of the two 2015 games is not huge.

That's a bit of debate. I've seen a lot of people digging into Minecraft just because its Telltale.

The game is clearly simpler than other Telltale games, and is designed with a younger audience in mind. Specifically, the young audience that turned Lets-Players into millionaires.
