I'm okay with it. There's no visible reason for the bomb to be broken like that so I get the feeling that he's safe because he's important.
It's visually interesting and it certainly doesn't obfuscate the trope, so it's at least a Keep Until Better Image Suggested for me.

Keep Until Better Image Suggested for me. A missile cracking upon contact with a person, with no justification anywhere ... seems like Plot Armor to me.

Not bad...something like "When you're reading the main character's memoirs, that's serious protection." occurred to me. I got to thinking about it and since the Cain work page reveals that the stories are his memoirs, that negates it being a spoiler.

The wording in 9 is confusing. "No armor beats Plot Armor"? What the hell does that mean? I get the joke that a character significant enough for her face to be exposed in battle is less likely to die, but in this case, no armor is Plot Armor. It should say: "Plot Armor is better than armor armor."
