I probably mentioned this before but wouldn't the video game examples just be put in a Night Level trope?

does it count as this trope if it isn't actually, literally, always night, but it is night for the entire length of time that the story takes?
If we invert that question; "is it Endless Daytime if the entire story takes place during the day?" I think we say no, although since humans are dinural, it could be the genesis of another trope? I dunno.

I think there has to be a reasonable expectation that it's out of the (Real Life) ordinary. It's not like just about every single-night horror flick would count.
