Actually, I believe this trope is meant to be the opposite of Unnecessary Makeover. The latter is when the makeover is supposed to invoke Beautiful All Along or She Cleans Up Nicely, but the audience thinks she looks better before the makeover. This trope is when the makeover is intended to be considered horrible in-universe, but the audience thinks she looks better in her new look.
Well, hardly any of the examples seem to show that. Most of them seem to be "She changed her look... and it looked pretty good". This trope seems pointless at best, if not outright redundant.
This trope has a bad description, which seems to be "fans prefer the new Unnecessary Makeover".
I have no idea what the examples are.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanDoesn't really seem that bad to me. The description is understandable, and the examples do generally follow it. Could use some touching up, but nothing major.
Check out my fanfiction!Near as I can tell, the only thing that's wrong with it is the YKTTW sponsor didn't wait for hats before launching it. He otherwise satisfied the Three Rules Of Three.
Assuming I understand what this trope is supposed to be correctly, I'm inclined to think it's a really bad idea.
What is?
In my understanding, both this and Unnecessary Makeover are Audience Reaction tropes, no?
This trope. Tropes about negative fan reactions tend to attract complaining, while tropes about the attractiveness of female characters tend to attract drooling. This trope is both. I just don't see that as a good idea, especially since it's purely YMMV.
... well, is it causing problems?
The trope seems clear enough, it's not covered by anything else, and the examples are alright.
I will admit the description definitely needs work, but other than a quick rewrite I don't think there's anything else really wrong with the page.

I meant to lock this up since it's so far past the clock, but I reclocked it by accident, so I guess it gets a few days' reprieve.
And we're done. Locking up.
The trope description seems to be that all this is is "Unecessary Makeover" and "She Cleans Up Nicely". The examples are all both subjective, and really just examples of She Cleans Up Nicely. I just really don't think this trope needs to exist.
