Whereas the small one might be a chickadee based on the name.

I did mean Chikadino.

And never heard of that species name (*waves ESL disclaimer*), but yeah it's probably that.

For the record, I'm pretty sure that's supposed to be his daughter pretending to be him. At least, that's what I'm led to believe from the pink dress underneath the coat and the hen going "Oh! How cute!!"

Also, I swear I've seen Morbi state somewhere on his blog or in some alt-text that Valente is supposed to be an eagle.

Well checking on the earlier appearance, the scar is in place.

Also it seems a little weird that earlier when Valente was intimidating he didn't have star-eyes, but Chikadino did when planning, but now it's vice-versa

I remember seeing a picture of Chicadino's daughter "playing" with Valente, but I can't find it now. I thought it was a "between books" filler strip deal, but I'm not seeing it between 1-2 and 2-4, so I'm not sure if she has that little scar, too. She was having a tea party, though.

Huh. Apparently White Beret Guy in xkcd has the same Star as the Princess.
