"Bayonet" isn't a trope, though unfortunately some of the examples are apparently just that. The description seems like it wants to have something to do with Knife Nut or Mix-and-Match Weapon, but doesn't say what exactly. TRS?

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Well, while yes I do realize the bayonet or even use of one is not a trope in and of itself, the description does list it as a "Sub-Trope" of Gun Accessories, so I read it as such.
"...seems like it wants to have something to do with Knife Nut or Mix-and-Match Weapon, but doesn't say what exactly."
I'm not sure how you came to that conclusion, but it specifically states its a common form of it. And it also links to Knife Nut and Mix-and-Match Weapon, etc. Am I missing something here?
As most of these overlap, I don't see much reason (aside from the examples displaying some of the related tropes) to dock it in the shop. Should I sent it their way and see what buzzes?
I'd send it there, I'm not clear on what makes it distinct enough from Mix-and-Match Weapon.

Okay, but I'll hold back on it for a while as I want to get some IP's out the way first.
Other than it being a Real Life example for Mix-and-Match Weapon and Bladeona Stick in the strictest sense of the tropes, not much really.

I think it would be better to have one of the ones that shows the bayonet in use.
As in the OP's or Willbyr's non-40K suggestion.

"Polite life will fill you full of cancer." - Iggy Pop "I've seen the future, brother, it is murder." -Leonard CohenWillbyr, from my understanding, the trope is about whenever your main weapon fails/jams/depletes ammunition or for some other reason such as stealth, you must rely on the bayonet as a form of Emergency Weapon.... Or for those that prefer it as a melee Weaponof Choice.
As long as its not too gruesome, sure!

Clock is set.
Motion to call a Crowner?
I'm still not sure this is a trope, was going to push to TRS but burnt out on being wrong a lot recently.

I agree, I do not understand what the point of the article is, so I'm not sure how I would pick a good image.
Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan. The point of the article is "firearm supplied with a blade, like a bayonet, that can be used in addition to the firearm properties".
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanSo, the use of bayonets or bayonet-like weapons in a work is a trope? Sounds like Mix-and-Match Weapon But More Specific.

What I said.

^^^ That is a type of object, not an idea. Anyway the article is very unclear, is this definition-by-fiat?

Becky: Who are you? The Mysterious Stranger: An angel. Huck: What's your name? The Mysterious Stranger: Satan.Aye, I suspect that it is. It could benefit from a trip to the TRS.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanYes, I suppose it would benefit from some fine-tuning... as the majority of the article simply lists broad examples of bayonet usage.

The clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus. Locking up.
Okay, this one's gonna be a doozy.
I think its pretty obvious everyone knows(or can at least Google) what a bayonet is, so it is not necessary for the trope to illustrate that much... That said, any regular GIS will result in a plethora of◊ awesome◊ images◊ to◊ choose◊ from so,◊ Its◊ worth◊ a stab!◊
The iconic image◊ that I am suggesting.
