Eddie's New RP Thread Policy

Don't know if I have the right to make this or not, but it needs to be made by someone. Everyone is freaked out and discussion is scattered, and we need to think coherently about this.

I vote we, as a community, create a backup forum every single RP game would be able to use. Be it A Game of Gods or that new RP down the corner.

This would be rather difficult for some of the larger threads. I know WAOAA and similar game have hit tens of thousands of pages.

Why didn't I think of this?

The main issue I see with this is that all it would take to get this entire place shut down would be one jackass from 4chan/Encyclopedia Dramatica that sees that post and decides to run with it. One troll. Boom. No more subforum.

I rather doubt we can debate this point, though...

We would need a forum appropriate for roleplaying, with the suitable features like coloured text and such. It would need moderators and such for order.

I'm certainly hoping that this is a last resort measure and that the RP threads remain as they are.

Not panicking seems like a very good idea.

Honestly, I think this is a bit of an overreaction. Low as my faith in the community is, I don't think anybody would try and pull pedo stuff in a public space like this.

The example he used was "lusty ten year old", for fuck's sake.

One big forum someplace would be a good idea,instead of people breaking off into smaller groups.

Like, was there something in particular?

I support the massive RPG forum too.

At least he gives the option of having us report stuff to the mods to be nuked before he sees it.

Perhaps this is a way of ensuring our vigilance, helping the mods with the threat of losing it all if we hesitate.

Sadly Bindle that's from an old RP. Seems somehow someone in the community (past or present) actually did that and sparked this.

But yeah a lot of the big games would be hell to port. WAOA and even just the stuff in the few thousands.

So long as this doesn't become a witch hunt, I'd say that running with business as usual, thumping appropriate posts, and keeping everything clean would do wonders to improve Fast Eddie's confidence in the subforum.

I'm still interested in what set it off though. Why couldn't we just keep on like we used to?

If anyone wants to archive any games for future reference, this could come in handy.

He's doing this because he's wanted to get rid of this subforum for a long time.

Because now our main concern is trolls seeing that post and doing things to deliberately get the forum nuked. And I rather doubt Eddie will sympathise.

Maybe making it Forum policy that every character must be over 16 to be approved? I really hate to say it. It's a really limiting thing but it's the only thing we can do that would send Eddie the message that we're trying all we can to prevent this kind of creepiness? Anyone that violates that rule would be proven to be a troll or someone so foolish as to not read the rules at all.
