[up]That's what I meant—I do most of my troping from my work computer. Too many video games to play at home for me to be wasting time troping from home. :p

I'm completely the opposite: I never use this site in a working environment.

I need something to do during the many, many low activity points during my day. And TV Tropes is (A) a site that not many people recognize at a glance, unlike Facebook or YouTube (or anything with lots of videos and pictures), and (B) a site that is mostly text, so it looks more or less legit. If I was browsing 4chan, it would quickly be recognizable as a message board. Not to mention 4chan is also easily recognizable to a lot of folks.

It also makes me feel productive, since I believe TV Tropes is a useful and beneficial site that has a worthy mission, and troping makes me feel like I'm contributing significantly to that mission. :D

I would be too nervous someone would catch me even if it was mostly written (not that I've ever really had a job, but I volunteered at an Art Gallery that was in a welcome centre that had a computer mostly I worked on name tags or swept if I was bored. When I was slacking off in school (like high school I don't have any classes with computers in College and I write my notes in a notebook, it's covered in doodles)because apparently Computers means Typing in high school (well and Power Point but everybody could use Power Point since Grade 4 so I don't know why they didn't assume we knew that already anyways)) I usually just fooled around with Paint

[up]It's a bit difficult to tell, but those brackets are in fact imbalanced. ((( ))

[up][up][up] Now that TV tropes looks less like an old wiki or old article site, and more like Facebook or Twitter, how does the sub-recognizability of TV Tropes look at this moment?

Not too bad. It does look more like Facebook now, but the articles look more or less the same, especially when I scroll down enough that the blue header is not visible, and I think it doesn't look enough like Facebook to make people think it is Facebook.

That said, the site is so fucking hard to use now that I kind of want to just go away for a few days and see if they fix it. Like how I waited to buy Assassin's Creed Unity for a few weeks, until most of the Obvious Beta nonsense was patched.

It feels good to be able to meet up with friends and chat with them after graduating high school. It makes me realize how old I'm getting. Like, I'm old enough to make plans with people on my own, set up events, and contribute to more things other than what's easy-peasy for me.

[up]lol, I know what you mean. I've actually had serious discussions with my boyfriend about moving in together, and we're talking about taking a vacation somewhere abroad next year or the year after. That boggles my mind. A vacation abroad? Without my parents? That I'm paying for? Without going into obscene debt? Preposterous!

Of course, that's only if it happens.

@Pyra I should really work on using less brackets anyways, though I suspect if I did it would just become to many foot-notes instead or something.

OhmyfreakinggawdIwantmyTSPtaxdocumenttobepostedalreadysoIcandomyfreakingtaxesandgetmyrefund.

I'm excited. I'm going to use my tax refund + some savings to pay off my two credit cards that have balances, then I'm going to stuff the smaller credit card in a drawer (with my other unused credit card) and designate my third, largest credit card as "the credit card" that I use (the other two will be kept at home and used for legitimate emergencies only).

Immediately after which, I will use "the credit card" to buy a Surface Pro 3. The expensive one. The 512 GB one with an i7. And then I'll have a tablet with which to watch Doctor Who on my lunch breaks. And a way more portable computing device to take on business trips that won't require a shoulder bag/case. And assuming the hardware is compatible, I'll be able to upgrade it to Win10 when it comes out, since apparently Win7/8 users will get a free upgrade to Win10 during its first year. Which is awesome, since all my machines are Win7/8. (Actually, I have an older laptop that's Vista, but that's really just a hard drive mule, so it could be Win95 for all I care.)

tl;dr I can't wait for my last tax document to post so that I can do my taxes, get my refund, pay off my credit cards, and then turn around and almost max one of them out to buy a Surface Pro 3.

EDIT: I'm... really not sure why that hyphen and space are there in the first line.

Oh, I'm not. It's not GREAT for my credit, but it's not bad. Between all my cards, I have a total of... $4700K (lines of credit, not debt) and I'm planning on putting $2500 of it away, so I'll have a $2200 card for regular use. The rest of my cards will languish in a drawer until I have a legitimate, desperate need for them. Which is hard to imagine, since I have actually been responsible with my savings for the past few years and I have a respectable emergency fund of REAL money instead of imaginary future money at 22% interest. (I'm kind of sick of having more than a single card with a balance at any given time. Too many bills, even if the payments are easily covered.)

And if I play it right, the remaining card won't actually be maxed out. I think the version of the SP 3 I'm looking at is about $1700, with an additional $130 for the keyboard and maybe $30 for a case.

...Plus, then I'll have a tablet. :D

My friends, I've successfully done it! I have used TV Tropes on a computer at my job!

Now some people may think this doesn't count, because it was volunteer work, so I didn't get paid; and the keepers of the job were actually willing to let me use a computer if the socializing with people thing became too much of a hassle, so it's not very audacious of me to have been troping at work; but damn, it feels pretty good!

While I was doing so, I discovered the lost episodes pages, a lost episodes wiki, and some really old TV show that nobody's ever heard of. I think it was called Wisim or something? It'll be nearly impossible to find it now...

This is a signature.

Yes so do you guys do your own laundry or do you bring it home to your parents? (Personally I do my own).
