Oh, hey, Yahtzee has a new project! It's in beta, though, just saying. Britain has been consumed by a shadow, and in 72 hours, an evil god will emerge from a rift in the Stonehenge to destroy mankind. There is a banishing ritual to prevent this, but the player only has the basic runes, with no idea of how to actually use them to banish the evil god. To make things more complicated, there are four evil gods, and only one of them is coming. Oh, and most of the details are pretty much random, meaning you have to gather up enough clues to, at the very least, make an educated guess, otherwise everyone is screwed. Yahtzee has been very good at spooky shit, and this game, even in its relatively incomplete state, is tense and knows how to get the whole horror thing across. The movement and combat mechanics are somewhat questionable, though, due to a baffling lack of keyboard controls. Still, it's very well worth a play.
Ghosts N' Stuff Remix
How much will it cost when it's released?
"Monsters are tragic beings. They are born too tall, too strong, too heavy. They are not evil by choice. That is their tragedy."
It'll probably be free like all of his games. He makes his money through Zero Punctuation, so apparently he sees no point in charging for any of his games, even the special editions of his earlier games are now free.
New version! Keyboard controls and bug fixes, ahoy. Keyboard controls make a world of difference, now. Awesome.
Why is the time limit comparable to Majora's Mask particularly?
Being against the antithesis of the thing you are a proponent of is not hypocritical.
I think it's just because that game is mostly known for its "72 hours before the world ends" mechanic, and the fact it's, well, that particular amount of time. And to be frank, it wouldn't be surprising if that were the case, considering Yahtzee cribbed from other games in his earlier Chzo Mythos project.

Ironically, he apparently hasn't actually played that game, to my knowledge. He's taking more from FTL than anything else, as the time limit is mainly there to keep the player moving and use their time wisely, much like other time-based mechanics in other rougelikes (such as hunger). I just thought it was amusing that a game with a horror bent had that specific time limit. Hell, it actually passes in real-time when not fast-forwarding, though I think it might be a bit slower than real-time, not quite sure.

Generic Evil Emperor
Off to an amazing start. I shot myself rather than start the quest. This was the wisest answer.

I was actually a fan of the stranger games long before zero punctuation, it'll be interesting to see how much he's improved over the years.
A love that crushes like a mace.
It's out! And it's a commercial release, in case you haven't heard. And yes, it is worth the money, at least according to Jim Sterling.
optimus is just being a tasteless ass
I feel like Yahtzee could have used spending more time on it for polish, and hire an additional artist, UI designer, and a programmer. Because the game, as neat as it is, has a very amateurish feel into it. For a free game as it intiallywas during Beta it's all fine and dandy, but when you're going for a commercial release you gotta step up the production values and give it more focus.
I bet this game will be a bit popular around the Pirate Bay
The people in the comments are pretty pissed that Jim didn't criticize it much, due to the dev being a friend. Toe the point many say if it wasn't Yahtzee J Im would bash the game and poke fun at its weaknesses.

I made my own avatar
I want a sequel. A sequel that involves someone who actually took part in art tutorials and practiced for more than an hour a month. Despite the atrocious graphics and UI though, I ended up spending dozens of hours on it and I still have it on my Macbook. It would be amazing if there was some way you could add in custom characters and write your own monologues for them. The Warrior is hands-down my favorite character if only because he doesn't need to spend a single quid on bullets. Also, the idea of fighting against horror-beasts with your foot is hilarious to me. The Ministry Man would be my favorite if it wasn't for that blasted 24-hour time limit.
