What exactly is the difference between a Wretched Hive and Vice City? Wretched Hive seems to be "a settlement infested with crime and corruption", while Vice City is just "a crime-ridden city". Am I the only one who feels that Vice City needs to be demolished cut?

Vice City specifically refers to a city, Wretched Hive is more broad and can refer to anything from a single location(like a bar or website) to an entire setting.

So Vice City is really a sub-trope of Wretched Hive specifically for a city/town/settlement whatever. It also says that the Vice City is a well organized den of scum, where as the Wretched Hive is just "every man for himself" chaos.

[up]Strikes me as The Same But More Specific. A Wretched Hive could be tightly controlled by one crime family, for example.

Vice City is very much a "crime city" and Wretched Hive can deal with any kind of bad behaviours.
