Dangan Ronpa RP (Interest Check)

Hope's Peak Academy, the true pinnacle of education. It goes out into all corners of the earth to find the students who are tip-top in their own categories. Yes, Hope's Peak only accepts those with true talents, who are the best, period.

New students to this place are far and few between. Students, however, are expected to be flawless. What would happen if you were to be among those who get in?

Ever watched an anime and thought to yourself: I want to make this into a new thing? Yeah, me too. I'm mrminun, and I am here to ask you: Do you like Dangan Ronpa? Can you not wait for the second series? Me neither! So, I want to see if anyone would be up for a Dangan Ronpa RP. It would be back at Hope's Peak and everything, with Monokuma presiding over y'all. Some people think: Hey, I don't want to play elimination style games! Good thing I have made a way to keep you from being out of the game entirely: Ghosts! When a student is murdered, a ghost will rise in their place! I would go into more detail, but since this isn't the actual signup thread, I'll finish my spiel later.

So, who wants to be trapped in a school with a bunch of teenagers out to murder each other?

I need to learn more about the mechanics before I can even consider pitching in. I've had a notion to create a Dangan Ronpa RP myself, just never got around to creating the framework.

It'll be like this:

I will randomly select two or three students and have them PM me with their actions for a little bit, and this is how murders are played out. Students will simulate a little fight in private, and nobody will be the wiser.

MEANWHILE....

Regular, boring chit chat and socialization, until a body is found. After that, a ghost will rise from the body, and that player will be back in the game, only the ghosts aren't able to speak. This is to prevent the killer's Identity from being revealed prematurely. They can interact with others just fine with that exception. Anyway, then y'all investigate, and have a class trial, and execute, and so on and so on.

Plot will happen as well.

Hmmm... Question! Would we have to be familiar with Dangan Ronpa to take part? Because I like the sound of this, but I've admittedly never actually seen the anime, ahah.

The game in general: Y'all are in an abandoned school (Only in the sense that no staff is there, everything is still fine) and you're promised freedom if you can pull of the perfect crime. You need to kill a classmate without being caught. You then go on trials as a group, and try to find the real killer. That's all you need to know. If you are found out as the killer, you get executed. If they get it wrong, the game ends with everyone else dying. I have a failsafe in place, however, so this doesn't wind up making it a short game.

But I can't explain that just now. Spoilers.

No, you don't need to be familiar with it. The only similarities are that Monokuma, everyone's favorite bear, will be played by I, and that this is in Hope's Peak.

Also, the Despair Incident was a thing that happened in this continuity.

Sounds like fun! I'll keep an eye on this at least.

I'm quite sure there weren't ghosts in the anime, but simply lots of clues... XD

So I've been reading a Dangan Ronpa LP lately (I've just gotten to the second murder), and... Now I really want this to happen, ahah. Hoping that more people show interest because I'm already going over character ideas in my head.

Well, the ghosts are part of what makes this original and fun. I'm not exactly going to have it be identical to the anime/game.

Trust me, I hope for more interest as well. We need 16 people. At minunmum (Ha, ha, name puns) half that.

... But I can't really participate in that if my character dies early on so I don't know.

Yes you can participate, part of this game (that I designed so as to keep from people disliking elimination not joining) will be in place so that death only means you aren't able to speak with the others anymore. Your character is still there, and can interact, though.

So yeah, after finishing the LP I am left with only one question...

...What kind of Super High School Level specialities to go for? Hmmm. I have some ideas, but we shall see what comes of them. >.> <.<

I... don't know, um... that kind of makes it difficult to work in the whole mystery thing still.

I think what Anno's trying to say is that she's in this for the mystery solving aspect, and thus she's hoping that her character is not killed off too soon so she can actually do this. Since I doubt ghosts will be able to give testimonials about their own deaths as this would lead to very short trials.

Also seem to have settled on... Super High School Level Ventriloquist. But we shall see how that works out.

Okay, I understand that. However, I will be... revamping the proceedings for Investigation and Trial slightly.

Moe has it right, eh-heh. ^^; I'd like my character to live decently long at the very least so she could participate in the mystery-solving.

... Also I've decided she would be the Super High School Level Cosplayer.

Okay. Well, there isn't anything keeping the ghosts from participating. Also, it isn't as easy as saying: YO LOOK IT WAS TOTES THIS DUDE WHO DID THE STAB. Ghosts are mute, and have Easy Amnesia.

I know they're mute, but, um.... that and having amnesia kind of makes it really hard for a character to participate in solving mysteries, which is really why I'm interested.

I'm basically trying to say I really would like my character to at least survive for a little while so I could do that.

Well, the plan is for y'all to introduce yourselves to each other, like in the game. Also, I may make a few Maizonos stock characters for early victims

Excellent. 1 or 2 more people, and I'll post a signup thread. Also, I just want to point out, on a complete tangent, have any of you heard the news? In the American release of the game, Byakuya's title will be the Affluent Progeny. What the hell, localizing team?

But "Super High School Level" was the best part of the titles!
