Metroid Dead? Well, of course they're dead, we killed them all by Metroid Fusion, AGAIN! But of course they gotta keep coming back.

I thought there was going to be a Metroid/Judge Dread crossover for a moment. :(

Metroid is deader than Megaman, guys. I thought we had agreed on that.

Who's "we"?

In any case, the presence of a Metroid minigames in Nintendoland, and Samus in Smash 4, proves Metroid to be far less dead than Mega Man.

Mega man is also in Smash4...

Ah yes.

Samus is grandfathered into Smash Bros. And she's never really been a mascot, either.

Well she's the most identifiable part of the Metroid franchise.

It had one poorly recieved game. Nintendo series have survived worse.

Admittedly, it is much easier to think of it as doomed when the poorly recieved one is the most recent one. I'm sure that's what public opinion was on the future of Star Fox after Adventures and before Assaut.

It barely made a million. That's worse than even Sonic 06.

And Starfox is practically dead, too.

Yes. Sonic is dying, but Metroid is outright DEAD.

Also, stop. Uprising doesn't count because that was Sin and Punishment as made by Joss Whedon.

Metroid isn't dead because of Other M, it's dead because Dread is dead. There's only so much you can do with Samus that takes place between Metroid and Metroid Fusion.

Unless you're making a Metroid Extreme Volleyball.

Or pulling a discontinuity with Other M.

I wonder what Metroid Prime Trilogy's sales figures are like, compared to Other M.

Then make games set after Fusion. Lord knows Samus's situation at the end of Fusion is ripe for sequels.

It's a bit premature to say a series is dead after just one game.

Japan, who knows. In US and PAL, it sold millions.

There's a prety big difference.

So when is this? I don't care about most of the awards although I am looking at a few categories with interest. I'm mostly interested in what Nintendo's announcement is.
