I wonder who will be this series' equivalent of Meijin.

This season is lacking great, respectable rivals. In the previous season, we had by episode 4 Fellini and Tatsuya, and already had an epic Meijin fight by episode 6.

Meijin himself appears in the OP, so there's that to look forward to.

There was also that guy on the jungle gym. Also, those swim team guys. It does seem that the rivals are the more typical sports animanga type.

Given the focus on teams instead of one-on-one duels, I guess it wasn't too surprising that the number of rivals would increase exponentially. I'm thinking that to save screentime, they might just develop the team leaders most of the time and leave the other two members as static characters.

• So Fumina's idol is likely on ZA MEIJIN'S team.
• Looks like Sakai really IS a douche.

Episode 5:

This is sadly the first episode with Mr.Ral's new voice after his voice actor got sick. I don't Mr. Ral new voice.

So we get to see Mirai in a swimsuit and Sekai training under the pool. Gunpla don't sink, they float. Plastic are light, after all.

screw sakai Meanwhile, Mr. Ral and Yuuma have a Gunpla battle. Mr. Ral lost and Yuuma made him drop his shield. Sekai then encounters Hoshino, she discuss about a certain female pilot that motivated her to battle. I didn't watch Stargazer, so I don't know.

Later, they joined a Gunple tournament and we have a bunch of Gunplas fighting each other. I do reorganize some of them, but not all of them. This is the first time Hoshino uses her Winning Gundam. I liked Sakai's reaction when Building Burning Gundam used Ryusei-Rasen Ken after he thought Sekai is a loser. They all won and....

..... Holy crap. Is that Meijin?!

It is and another champion if what Fumina said about her is true. By the way, I thought the Stargazer wasn't a combat mech or am I wrong? Also, this week, Sekai is closer to doing what Setsuna couldn't and becoming a Gundam.

Ral's new voice is gonna take some getting used to.

Also, yeah, was that Meijin? I hereby dub him and his apparent protege Lady and the Tramp.

EDIT: I gotta say, though, as much as I love G Gundam, I hope Sekai develops more variety in combat than simply Martial Arts Hot-bloodedness + Convenient Particle Spam. It's fun, but starting to get a little one note.

The Stargazer was just where an experimental Solar Sail system was put for testing, so no, it's not supposed to be a combat unit.

And yeah, this is a team sport now, so we'll likely see Lady and Yuuki plus Julian for Team Meijin.

No, the Stargazer isn't intended as a combat unit, but it has a pretty deadly Weaponised Exhaust.

What's precedent ever done for us?
