Well the only thing stopping Reiji from coming back is the lack of Arista gems. Remember the only thing that segues between Reiji's story from the start of the series and Mashita's story? It's the fact that both of them found (or in the latter's case, stolen) their Arista gems in the royal treasury.

And it turns out that Arista gems are like Swarovski Crystals back there...

You know, guys, I just realized: Plavsky particles and gunpla could be used to make some really epic machinima. I mean, if you can make this and this without the particles, imagine what you could do with them...

Honestly, I think this whole spoiler thing is bullshit. If it honestly reduces your enjoyment to know what's coming before you've seen it, you shouldn't be watching in the first place because you're clearly not enjoying it as much as you should. At least, that's what I think.

Personally, half the fun comes in guessing what will happen next.

Knowing what will happen because someone else just blatantly yakked about it kind of ruins that.

I believe there's a nothing-less-than-five-years-old rule in effect with GBF — there was one Gundam 00 suit that didn't appear until like the last episode because it juuuuuust hit five years (like, to the day) before it showed up.

Though that may only apply to mecha, rather than characters.

No, that has to do with the weird legal issues surrounding 00 S2 and AGE, which are owned by another TV station instead of Namco Bandai. Unicorn, being entirely in-house, is completely kosher to use, and there are rumblings that it'll have significant prominence in BF S2.
