What the Franken-Try's victory over the Portent-Transient meant for me is just one thing: Sei is god builder.
Wouldn't be the first time they said no to a female Gundam protagonist.
Yuuma's definitely got a Not So Above It All thing going on, yeah. He's definitely the blue oni outside of battle, but once the match starts heating up, Yuuma gets loud with the best of them.
Really from Jupiter, but not an alien. That and that he's also capable of being adorkable whenever he's trying to woo Mirai. Seriously he's got about twice more personality than Sekai.
Remember where Adou Saga's wrist has some kind of injury? You would expect that become a major plot point, but nope, it's just here. I'm not saying they forgot about it as some characters did pointed out on and his wrist gets wrapped after he lost on this week episode, but his wrist injury doesn't cause him to lose.
Speaking of that, Mr.Ral is just here. He did not do any major thing, especially in the second half in the series.
edit: Why did I mistake wrist for waist?

I think you mean wrist.
GIVE ME YOUR FACEHey you know Nils lab? The giant mock suit?
It is basically a mobile suit sized Scopedog.
They switched his VA a few episodes in though, so it's not lack of a voice.
And the new VA wasn't that bad either.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. They rewrote the character though after episode 5. All the comedy and refrences were gone and I mean gone, it was a completely different person.
It's like he never really exist in the show.
Hell, his role was so small that it probably could have been replaced with Fumina or even Mirai.
I'm a (socialist) professional writer serializing a WWII alternate history webnovel. He was a coach that did very little coaching, the only times that he did were smacking Sekai for being unable to move well in a battlefield that didn't have solid ground, and testing Yuuma's upgraded Lightning.
Makes me wonder if those clip show parts were supposed to be different, they were all ' Ral gives them a video to watch' which is way out of character for the old one. I bet the original writing had something more hands on.
24th Try:
- A colony fight. Except not really. The combined beam explosion was quite spectacular.
- Out of the destined match-ups, Fumina and Shia didn't really share a lot of blows. ...In fact, Shia barely did anything. Disappoint.
- So, like...was there a reason to bring up Adou's wrist injury? 'Cuz that was a pointless waste of time!
- Transient's lance bits were awesome. And the counter to that was to form the Blazing Sword.
- Franken Burn looks good for an emergency repair.
- The best part of the overtime fight was the final clash.
So yeah, Tryon 3 trumps all battles this season.
Something funny just crossed my mind. Remember when I said Shimon was about the same tier as Reiji for using an unmodded Destiny, then where would that put China who fights using a mechanized teddy bear based on an aquatic grunt suit even in space, is clearly not made for combat and is not even a serious gunpla battler and yet she's able to fight decently and keep up with the rest of the team during GBF's last episode.(That alone should have given her some memetic badass points at least.)
Imagine if she DID get serious about gunpla and make her own custom gundam. How strong would she be?

Didn't Kirara/Mihoshi and Caroline participate in the final battle as well? They were holding their own pretty well too.
Kirara had to be, after all, her Gerbera-Tetra managed to molest the Fenice Rinascita in Episode 23 :p
Neither goony beard-men nor rainbow-haired she-twinks will stand in the way of my dreams! The Gerbera and the knight gundam are made for combat. Bearguy isnt .
And my point was that China was using an amphibious teddy bear with bearly any weapons in a war..IN SPACE and was keeping up with the others. It just seems funny and badass to me.

Well you can't really say Bearguy III isn't for combat, since it was created so China can participate in an all-girl Gunpla tournament IIRC. Unlike other models though, Bearguy III itself has a backstory; namely a bear that wanted to be a robot.

...Can I just point out that that would make a hilarious pitch for a gundam series?
"So, instead of a whiny teenager with Impossible Hair and a multitude of psychological issues piloting the giant robot, it's a teddy bear instead."
Actually its the other way around,China made Bearguy as an art piece it was Caroline that challenged China to the tournament after seeing Bearguy.
Anyway for the next season I would want to see someone make a Haro based custom Kapool. (Seriously there aren't enough non-gundam custom gunpla this season)

Or better yet, have someone pilot a Psycho Haro. (Yes that's a thing)
That reminds me, is it just me or is Yuuma so kuch more hot blooded than Sekai when it comes to battle?
