[up]Don't mind if I do. I actually talked about doing various one-shots in this shared universe a while back, and I think now is the time to start doing them. I've tried doing long-format series — The Golden Age, my recent X-Men series — but I always drop it in the end for one reason or another. But I think doing various stand-alone one-shots is right up my ally.

Hey, just peeking in on you guys from the other side of a frosted-over window, with my eyes all wide...

Anyone liking this idea? (forgive me if something similar has already been suggested)

Should Diana Prince be a separate person from Princess Diana, as in the Golden Age? (They had a whole Identical Stranger situation thing going on). Because I really, REALLY want to read Diana Prince, Agent of SHIELD. In fact, going off the earlier idea to make Traynor and Rogers into a single Steve, could Princess Diana be Peggy Carter and human Diana be Sharon Carter? Or vice-versa?

[up]The problem is that 'Princess Diana' isn't around during The Golden Age here. Instead, we've got 'Queen Hippolyta' as the original Golden Age Wonder Woman, who then has a one-night-stand with Steve Rogers, leading to the birth of Princess Diana after Steve gets frozen in the iceblock. And since the amazons are effectively immortal, Diana can still be a young twenty-something when she finally set out into Man's World.(TM.)

For the record, in the comics a modern-day version of Miss Prince was introduced sometime after the crisis for the exact same purpose as the original... so Princess Diana could take over her life when she needed a secret identity.

[up][up]Hmmm.... that actually works a lot better.

Also, I called Steve Trevor "Traynor" and nobody called me out on it. Multisymptomatic asberger's strikes again.

Forgive my ignorance: what do the Rannians actually do, other than house Adam Strange? Like, what about them is unique to them as a race? 'Cause if the answer is "nothing", then fuck it, blend 'em with the Kree. Rann/Thanagar war becomes Kree/Thanagar war. This makes Hawkman and Hawkwoman's race look even more badass by being able to get into a prolonged conflict with a race of Superman Expies and not die.

And, forgive my ignorance for this discussion in particular, but then we turn the Kree/Skrull war into the Krypton/Skrull war, and Krypton is destroyed when the Skrulls see Galactus headed their way and shut down their planet so he walks right past them and noms him some Krypton.

[up]1.Except that would mean Adam Strange would be willingly saving a planet that regularly attempts to dominate other planets, his home planet Earth included. I honestly doubt Adam would be buddies with the Kree Intelligence; he'd sooner shoot through it's beaker with his fancy ray gun and zap it into a gooey paste than risk himself for such a world.

2.I'm fine with having a Skrull/Krypton War, but rather than having it replace the Kree/Skrull War, about having it take place before the Kree war, with the end result being Krypton getting blown to smithereens? It isn't long after that that the Kree/Skrull war starts up, and it also means that we still get that awesome Avengers storyline of the same name later down the line. Heck, with the Avengers and the League merged together as the Justice Initiative here, we could even make it personal for Superman, what with the Skrulls having played a part in the death of his birth planet and all.

Hey, I don't know how active this project still is but I had an idea I thought I'd share. What do you think of Thanos and Darkseid being brothers?

[up][up][up]You'd have to go into more detail there. Both Thanos and Darksied come from completely different planets and have rather different backgrounds. I don't really see how they can be made brother unless one of the fathers was dicking around the cosmos.tongue

Well, you'd have to do some backstory juggling, but the characters are so similar in demeanor, power level and even appearance that it occurred to me that establishing a connection would make sense. It was just a random thought that I haven't fleshed out at all and wanted to share, do with it what you will. :) And the idea that one of their fathers was philandering around the cosmos is actually pretty funny. The only unique thing about the Rannians is that they'd gone mostly sterile (due to a nuclear war) and the real reason they teleported Adam there was so he could help restore the race with his pure genes. (This was a retcon I never liked, btw.) How about this: since Rann is supposed to be located around Alpha Centaury, make it the same planet as Centaury IV- Yondu's homeworld! Then you can use his race instead.

As for Thanos and Darkseid, given than the later is much older than the former (by thousands of years) we could have Thanos be a "student of Darkseid's methods" in his quest to win the Love of Lady Death. At the very least, Thanos must be aware of the New Gods and study them for convenience, especially Darkseid and Metron (note he was based on BOTH charaters!)

[up]That works. Heck, we could even have Yondu in Go G refer to Adam every now and then as a sort of larger-than-life, mythic figure from his planet's past, considering that Yondu is from the future and all.

Speaking of which, I can't remember if we've gone over how the Legion and Future!Go G would work or not. I'm pretty sure that we chose the original pre-Zero Hour Legion, with the exception of Superboy being swapped out for Marvel Boy, but as for the Go G, I've been reading some of their old comics, and you really can't reconcile their setting with that of the Legion. Right now, they're an alternate future in the Marvel Universe, and I think that's what they should stay as here.

Yes, in the comics the original Guardians were established as existing in the same timeline as Killraven, in which Earth was conquered by Martians in the 21st century (these aliens were actually not from Mars, they just used it as a base) until a man named Killraven led a revolt against them.

You can say that such an alternate timeline exists, but in the "main" one, not only the invasion didn't happen, but the Guardians characters end up joining the Legion of Super Heroes instead (after all, the point of the Legion is to include representatives from the United Planets.)

[up][up][up] That's a neat idea. Pehaps Thanos could even be a former protege of Darkseid. Still doesn't explain the somewhat similar looks, but that's not a big deal.

Idea on how the Nova Corps and the GLC coexist. The Nova Corps opperates from Xandar, which is in the same Sector as Okarra, they made an aggreement with the Guardians to warn them if Larfleeze decides to leave Okarra, also to prevent any innocent people from winding up on Okarra.

Sijo from Puerto Rico Since: Jan, 2001

Well (in the comics) Xandar is located in the Skrull Galaxy (Andromeda.) Though they later expanded to the Milky Way, apparently. Okaara is located in the Vegan Star system, not that far from Earth in fact, and the original reason for there being no Green Lanterns there was due to The Guardians of the Universe having made a deal with the Psions, a race they uplifted. That was later retconned with the Larfleeze thing, I think.

In any case, I suggest this: the GLC watches over (most of the) Milky Way, the Nova Corps over Andromeda. There's also the Kree Empire on the Greater Magellanic Galactic Cluster (which orbits our galaxy), the Sh'iar galaxy, and the Golden Galaxy (where Rom and the Spaceknights live- no real counterparts that I know of.) Oh and the Sombrero galaxy (yes that's what it's called tongue) where occasional Superman antihero Vartox comes from.

So known empires of this universe. Kree, Skrull, Sh'iar, Oan/Maltusian (What they do technically have an empire), the Psions, and the Reach.
