Interest, though I gotta look through fandoms to figure something out- I'm resisting the temptation to reuse a character I'm in another RP off site with though...

Er... wow... we're screwed.

Quick question for Moerin - when you said we can play as villains as well, are those OC only? What sort of power levels are you looking for for those?

  • Name:Sinoc
  • Age: I don't think nobodies age but he looks to be in his twenties.
  • Gender: Male
  • Appearance: This
  • Universe: Kingdom Hearts
  • Backstory: Sinoc like all Nobodies was born when a strong person lost their heart. Eventually he gained awareness in Traverse town and subsequently began trying to figure out who he was since he had no memories of his previous life. Eventually this quest took him off planet. This caught the attention of one of the members of Organization XIII (he doesn't know which one) who filled him in on a few details of his existence. Sinoc was searching for another clue to the organization's whereabouts when he was attacked by a heartless with a mirror in it's chest. While he fought it he fell into the mirror
  • Personality: As a nobody Sinoc doesn't actually have emotion That's actually a lie perpetuated by Xemnas but he doesn't know that. However he does act very smug and cocky. A key tactic of his is to insult his opponents and get them angry enough to make mistakes (which has backfired on him before). That being said if you push him (particularly in regards to his lost memories) he'll get very angry. All that being said he does display a capacity for kindness often going out of his way to defend children and those who are clearly outmatched.
  • Equipment:

    • Mithril spear.- A simple but well made spear that he uses in combat.
  • Abilities: Sinoc uses the attribute of sound. It is a difficult ability to control so he tries not to overuse it lest he lose control. He employs sound to use for offensive blasts, shields to reflect projectiles and shockwaves through the ground.

    • Limit break: This one goes up to eleven-Focusing all his power Sinoc unleashes a stream of soundwaves towards a single target, injuring and confusing them. The trade off is that once he uses it Sinoc is out of the fight because it takes so much time to recover afterwards.

It has been drawn to my attention that the SSS-Rank can be misconstrued into 'more powerful than any extant Nanoha character'. This is not true. Mage Rank is only partly due to power—rather, it's a measure of how good you are at dealing with the obstacles set before you. Power is an advantage, because lesser obstacles can just be crushed, but it is not the totality of it (otherwise Hayate would be SSS, or the gap between her and the others would be larger). If it was a measure of power, several characters would also plummet because they don't really tend to cause that level of damage.

Rather, she'd get ranked SSS because of experience and versatility—as she has no fixed device, she can alter her approach to enemies. And as for experience, she's lived a long time and hasn't aged so much, so she's got plenty of that. She's definitely weaker in sheer power than Sankt-Kaiser Vivio, let alone Reinforce.

... oh, and please consider that she has no mooks, no-one to fight with. If she gets in a fight, it's 1vMany, so if she isn't an enormous threat in solo combat, she can't function as a villain at all. And finally: aerial specialist. Most people here can't fly and are liable to head for cover if she tries raining death from above (or are going to be indoors to start with). Grounded, she's not so bad. :/

AND LO, ANOTHER VILLAIN.

  • Name: The King of The Spacewaves, The Dark Lord Spandez
  • Age: Win, Lose, Or Die has been on the air for centuries, with documentation of similar contests going back millenia. Spandez himself is at least 30,000 years old, having appeared in the classic Soap Opera "So The Stars Turn."
  • Gender: Male. Or at least the producers think so.
  • Appearance: Um... yeah. Got it drawn, will need to upload later.
  • Universe: OC from "Power Rangers Grand Prize/Gameshow Sentai Kyosoger."
  • Backstory: An ageless, eternal cosmic entity born from the underlying love of bloodsport throughout the cosmos, Spandez is the host of "Win, Lose, Or Die", an intergalactically broadcasted gameshow in which alien invaders are challenged to complete certain tasks in order to gain points. If they rack up enough, the planet of the season is legally theirs! However, there were numerous problems with the first few rounds, which led to Spandez adding some rules:
    • Active military and law enforcement personnel aren't allowed to interfere with the contestants. Doing so constitutes a forfeit and results in the destruction of the planet.
    • Contestants may gain monsters and Newdurs based on fulfilling the objectives and causing collateral damage.
    • The invaded planet's governments may field up to five champions, with additional ones unlocked by defeating monsters and racking up points of their own. If these champions survive an entire season, the planet is legally given to its citizens and can no longer face interference from the show.
    • Sunshine Broadcasting must pay for and finance all repairs to Earth's infrastructure after every battle.
    • There will be a 168-hour break between battles to allow contestants and natives to rest.
    • The invaded planet must be granted a subscription to the cable channel which broadcasts Win, Lose, or Die.
  • The show went off seamlessly for centuries. An underdeveloped society got invaded, monsters beat stuff up, prizes and good times were had by all. Sure, some people protested the show, but with so much money from merchandising and royalties, Spandez was sitting pretty. And then they happened upon Earth.

It was deemed perfect for the show, and so they set off. They were surprised to discover just how many teams of heroes and solitary vigilantes had risen up on Earth and briefly considered choosing a different society- after all, they'd already done something else in this Solar System with the Martians. Still, the promotional materials were out, and Spandez loved a challenge. Earth fielded its champions, a team of martial artists from around the world. However, the governments of Earth did things Spandez had never taken into account before- hiring a lawyer. Using existing military and corporate resources to outfit the team rather than having them go in blind. It was as if it was a species dedicated to messing with the natural order.

Throughout the contest, Spandez heard more and more dissent throughout the show, even among Sunshine Broadcasting's shareholders- financing these repairs was running them a lot of money. Realizing this was his last chance to justify the show's spending, Spandez decided to declare a "Special Round" on New Year's Day, allowing each and every contestant a second chance to invade. However, the lawyer of Earth's champions discovered something- by the wording of the show's rules, the Power Rangers were technically contestants. Contestants who had never redeemed a year's worth of collateral damage for monsters or Newdurs. Most shareholders had found the show barbaric for quite some time, but were afraid to speak up because of how profitable it was. The board of Sunshine Broadcasting agreed to send all thirty billion dollars worth of monsters and Newdurs to fight alongside the rangers. After a day-long battle, Spandez was promptly fired and left to the street.

Travelling to a space bar to drink away his sorrows, he stumbled upon his friend King Diamond. Talking out their problems- King Diamond's Hotblood Force Victory and Spandez's Power Rangers, they drank away the night, shortly before Spandez headed to the bathroom and discovered something strange about the mirror when he began sobbing into the sink.

With a mad laugh, he saw an opportunity. A gameshow about conquering PLANETS had made him rich. What would a gameshow about conquering UNIVERSES get him? He began calling up the show's old sponsors, saying he had a unique proposition for them...
  • Personality: Spandez, at his core, lives up to his nature as a physical embodiment of bloodsport. He is violent, wholeheartedly evil, and sadistic. However, being a creature dedicated to entertainment, he knows to keep this under wraps, as it makes for poor television. He is proud of his title as the longest-running celebrity in the Sunshine lineup, and always welcomes new seekers of showbiz- after all, a stagnant programming block is no fun for anybody. He seeks to conquer the worlds not only for profit, but because conquest is literally all he knows. Spandez does, however, have a weakness- his vanity and commitment to sticking to the script. He will seldom support monsters, fearing that his suit will get messed up and make him look shabby on TV.
  • Equipment: Transdimensional camera, recording equipment, and a mirror which can change size as needed for quick escapes. At the base, a cloning device which allows him to create more Newdurs and various editing and broadcasting equipment.
  • Abilities: Although he is loath to walk on the front lines- it doesn't look good for the cameras- he is a capable hand-to-hand combatant who is able to shrug off tank shells (oddly enough, punches and small arms harm him just fine). He mostly relies on henchmen/camera crew/studio staff called "The Unpaid Intern Soldiers, Newdurs" and monsters to fight in his stead. Most of these monsters are created by the monster "Mixenmatch," a robotic slot machine which pours objects into its head to make monsters to accompany contestants.

  • Name: Tsubasa Takanashi/Kamen Rider Tempest
  • Age: 21
  • Gender: Male
  • Appearance: Human Form and Mage Form
  • Universe: Kamen Rider Wizard
  • Backstory: Tsubasa was a college student who in high school made friends with a girl named Sayoko. He and Sayoko went their separate ways after graduation, as she went on a yacht trip. Years later, Tsubasa found himself targeted by a mermaid-like monster. He was saved by what the monster referred to as "The Ringed Magician" and the monster, referred to the Magician as a Phantom, ran off. The Magician introduced himself as Haruto and explained to him about why the Phantom targeted him. He was what is called a Gate, a human with magical potential. When a Gate hits their Despair Event Horizon, their magical potential corrupts into an inner Phantom which destroy them on the inside out. Although he was explicitly told to stay in an antique shop until the Phantom is dealt with, Tsubasa manages to sneak out of the shop from time to time, inevitably seeing that the Phantom was really Sayoko. He was going to ask Haruto about it, but someone managed to beat him to the punch in the explanation department: a quirky man by the name of Sora who says that despite being a Phantom himself, he still has his humanity attached. This planted the idea in Tsubasa's head that Sayoko still had her humanity. He tried to stop Haruto, but he was too late as he landed the final blow onto the Mermaid Phantom and killed her. Haruto tried to explain to Tsubasa, but his mind was already manipulated by Sora's words enough to have him hit his emotional nadir and cause his Phantom to develop and rip him apart. However, he had enough with Haruto and when offered a chance to be cured, he rejected it and told Haruto that his death by his hands will bring him hope. However, he was restrained by another Magician, The White Wizard. The White Wizard told Tsubasa that in order to attain such a hope, he must train under him. Tsubasa agreed and off they went to train. It took a few months, but he was able to master being a Magician himself, being able to use the magic of a powerful ring called the Tempest Ring. Although the White Wizard called him "Mage", Tsubasa preferred to be called "Tempest". Now he is ready to take on what is allegedly called "His Last Hope".
  • Personality: Tsubasa is easily manipulated into believing anything, as seen with Sora managing to plant wisdom into his head. Tsubasa is also vengeful, swearing revenge on anyone who would bring harm to his friends. Because of this, Tsubasa often rushes head first into battle without actually considering any battle strategies. He is also confrontational, rarely making allies unless they help him in some way.
  • Equipment: Tsubasa possesses several magical rings that he uses in battle. Most of these Rings are accessible due to his Phantom being wind-based.
    • Tempest Ring: He was originally going to get a Change Ring like most Mages, but his affinity was able to utilize what the White Wizard considered a "dud ring" and so he used that instead. When using it to transform, he is engulfed in a magical tornado that creates his Magician armor.
    • Driver On Ring: Summons his Mage's Belt
    • Connect Ring: Creates a small portal for Tempest to bring out his WizardSwordGun, which is able to be both a sword and a gun.
    • Barrier Ring: This ring is able to create a gust of wind that blocks attacks and pushes enemies back.
    • Tornado Ring: This Ring is able to create a small tornado that Tempest can send towards his enemies.
    • Special Ring: This Ring allows Tempest to sprout Garuda's Wings and have him be able to fly.
    • Thunder Ring: This Ring allows Tempest to use thunder and attack his foes.
  • Abilities: Like all Wizard Riders, Tsubasa has a Phantom inside him that he uses as a magic source. This Phantom in question is the Garuda Phantom. If he is to fall into despair, the Phantom will begin ripping him apart until he is killed and the Phantom will take over his body. If, for any reason, the Phantom is destroyed, Tsubasa's magic goes with it.

  • Name: Kagome Mizuki
  • Age: 16
  • Gender: Female
  • Appearance: "Heheh... heh... I, uh, they're my pokemon! ... I... yeah, I... I bought them off eBay... y-you ruined it..."
  • Universe: Toaruverse
  • Backstory: Kagome Mizuki entered Academy City's curriculum after showing a great deal of promise. She promptly proceeded to do nothing except what was required of her, with the exception of what was required to develop her Esper powers. She became dedicated to this, fascinated with the idea of having something like that. Really, she thought it would make her more popular. However, as she succeeded and reached Level 4, her classmates began to resent and bully her. Not all of them, but some, especially certain groups, hated how such a lazy-seeming NEET was able to excel so much. As such, Mizuki has become more nervous and even more introverted, though she still tried to befriend those who didn't bully her. Unfortunately, she... Is still very bad at this. Thankfully, not everything is bad for her. She does enjoy herself in her spare time to some extent, and her classmates look upon the bullies more and more poorly as time goes on, even though she's still yet to make progress on making friends.
  • Personality: Mizuki is a very strange girl. Almost never appearing outside of her home except for lessons at school, she is a shut-in who often has difficulties interacting with people. Not only is she somewhat shy and nervous, but she's socially awkward. Her topics of conversation are often strange and rambling even without her insecurities coming into play. At the same time, she would like to associate with people and make friends. She's simply rather bad at it.
  • Equipment: Absolutely nothing but the clothes she is wearing. Which is entirely her overlarge shirt functioning as a dress thingy. And a 3DS.
  • Abilities: Mizuki's Esper Power is "Friction Shift". Friction Shift functions by altering the friction of an object. She can increase and decrease how much friction acts on an object, to the point where a light push can send a heavy object blazing across the ground towards a target. This works even with objects up to the size of large cars, such as trucks and vans. This size, however, is her limit as a Level 4 Esper. She can also use the power on anything she is wearing, allowing her to skate simply with her shoes by altering their friction. The effect also only lasts for roughly ten seconds after she stops touching it, after which the object returns to normal. She can also alter her personal friction.

Edit: Morgan is accepted, I'll look into everyone else later on. Or Moe will, either way. ^^;

@Moerin:

Since I think it kind of got missed due to the sign-ups, I'll ask again: roughly how powerful do you want villains to be? I don't want to accidentally create an under/overpowered villain, after all.

Also, does your villain character have to be from a different 'verse than your hero character? I'm asking since I've got precisely zero alternative 'verse ideas for my villain+

Well, the second question is easy: no, they don't need to be from a different universe. You could use multiple characters from the same universe if you so wish.

As for the first one, that's a bit more tricky since power scaling can be difficult to explain... Does "they should be powerful or skilled enough to pose a challenge for the heroes, but not so powerful there's no way to beat them" make sense? I hope that helps.[lol]

Okay, thank you for answering my questions! I was curious since it seemed everyone was picking characters from settings other than their first choice, so I was wondering if they knew something I didn't. tongue

And that's really helpful to know. Just figured I might as well tread lightly first rather than making a presumption and being caught out.
