Poor Image (runoff crowner): Dream Weaver

Here's the artwork at 300 px...I like it a lot for Dream Stealer.

Looks great.

As for this page, I found this◊. Not really weaving, but seems to illustrate dream creation more.

Edit to note: I like the picture of 11 better actually, but I do agree with those who said that the "dream creation" part is not as emphasized as the "weaving"

I quite like #11 for Dream Weaver. To the chap who is saying that it says "mystical" but not "dreamy," I'd be curious what does say dreamy to you?

I could dream about eating a sandwich, that doesn't mean that a spider sitting on top of a cheeseburger would be a good picture of Dream Weaver. I'd argue that the "mystical" quality is what helps the image fit a stereotypical idea of a dream.

Edit: I suppose #27, which was suggested as I was typing this post, could work as well. But I still like #11 better.

I don't like 11 because the dreams aren't the focus of the image. The eye is drawn to the woman's face and directed toward her hands. The dreams are almost an afterthought.

Wonders if 27 look focused in wiki size...

OK, 26 is acceptable for Dream Stealer, especially since the person is sleeping.

While 27 might not be a literal "weaver", it seems to be creating stuff alright. Only issue is that we need something to point put it's actual dreams there.

I'm not all that crazy about but it's better than nothing.

^ Agree: not only is it better than nothing, it's the best suggestion in this thread IMO.

I can't see any real difference between that and the source pic◊.

If anything, the strong colouration adds to the ethereal feeling of it.

I can get behind the bubble pic. Certainly the best suggestion so far.

It has the coolness factor, at least.

The old crowner, at a week, was essentially neck and neck between the weaver and the bubbler, so I've hooked a runoff between them. Please don't downvote an option unless you're dead-set against it.

It's not great but I can't think of any good ones to replace it.

I agree that the current suggestion don't really describe what a Dream Weaver does. It's simply stating the Trope name, followed by Non sequiturs.

As for suggestions, maybe that line from Inception? "We create the world of the dream, you bring the subject into that dream, and they fill it with their secrets."

Kinda, but then kinda not. At any rate, now that I think about it, this is a conversation better suited for the page quote repair thread in Long Term so let's move this over there.

How about for a caption (or a page quote, if people would rather) this line from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory?

"We are the music makers... and we are the dreamers of dreams."

I know that within the context of the film it is from, it doesn't fit the definition of this trope. But it is such a lovely, lyrical line that could apply to this when taken out of context.
