They're produced by Jay Joyce, whose forays into country production I've greatly enjoyed (especially Eric Church, and Little Big Town's Tornado).

Okay, so Cage The Elephant has been around for several years now and is one of the biggest alternative rock bands around now, so I'd say they deserve a thread here.
Listening to a stream of their new album (to be released in a week), I like it so far, but (at least as far as the third track so far) it's a pretty big departure from their previous sound. Their first album was more of a '70s rock album with indie influences, their second was closer to indie but grounded more in the Pixies' sound than much else. A lot of this album's music seems to be (like so many other bands these days) very MGMT-ish and even more indie than ever. Granted, they don't sound quite as far into that area as other bands I've heardnote , but it's definitely at least dipping its toes into the trend.
On the track featuring Alison Mosshart right now. Of course this song would take on a similar sound to a Jack White song, wouldn't it?
