The animation is really feeling off now.
Ouch, everyone dies.
Whoops. I meant to say invincible. Fixing it now.
EDIT: Souji's sharp eyes... They are made of...metal-tal-tal...

So, I'm watching the Log Horizon dub, and I'm happily surprised at the quality of it. Especially considering that Nyanta is now Sassy Black Nyanta (this is actually glorious and makes quite a lot of his lines amazing). Anyone else watching it?
I'll probably re-subscribe to TAN in a couple days and LH's dub will probably be the first thing I watch
Now that I know there's a dub, I will.
I was sold on the dub by a few things:
Michelle Ruff as Akatsuki.
Nyanta's first two words in the anime to Serara being "Heeeyyy, baby-" in the voice of one of those smooth jazz styled radio hosts for literally no goddamned reason at all.
Memes. Hey, they are gamers.
And the translation/localisation being great. It actually reminded me of the Highschool Dx D dub i watched a couple days ago.
So...what's that scythe's flavour text?
New episode, this season seems to be going a little slow.
No krusty! Don't leave us!
"It causes disasters!" (no idea)
My guess would be something like "eventually consumes the user's lifeforce".
Well, in the LN, it's description says that it causes calamities with a single swing, is a cruel weapon, and has an ill-omened divine design.
So, fun times for all.
Say Goodbye to Crusty everyone!
Even in the LN We don't know what happened to him yet.

Well, we have vague and unofficial word as to what happened to him, but it's unofficial. And vague. Grain of salt and all that.
Episode 6. In which they talk in circles.
Seems he's not entirely invincible. Or it's something else even worse.
She looks older.
She's surprised that he died, considering where they are?
That's a cute Eye Catch.
She also looks older without her ponytail. Which certainly isn't a bad thing.
That looks like appropriate wear for the season.
"Can probably just ignore it." Someone's not Genre Savvy.
And then they know about exactly that anyway.
That whole friendship, helping, and relying discussion they have feels off. Sort of just talking just for the sake of talking about it, and principles for the sake of principles. There is a genuine point behind it, and one that especially Aka needs to learn, but I think they just skirted around it and pretended to actually address it.
That's not good.
I don't think the writing on most psychological stuff is nearly as good as the world building. And since it's more about the former in the last few episodes, it feels like the series is in a slump.

Check out my fanfiction!Oh, and they aren't even showing what's happening to Shiroe, or why HE died. I do hope they do, it's just as important to the world as a whole as the serial killer plot is.
Somehow accidentally posted in the Gundam Build Fighters thread originally:
Its...nothing like that at all. If you mean LH is toyetic.
That's just the impression I got. I know there's no actual product this is meant to sell, but... it just felt kinda... I dunno, I just couldn't get into it. Maybe it's because I'm not into MMORPGs.
Can't imagine how I'm gonna react to Sword Art Online considering how fast I lost interest in this
It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference.SAO is basically a generic shonen.
I don't get how that is your impression at all though. WB Saturday Morning cartoons were almost entirely shonens for younger children.
re Crusty: We learn in the web chapters of Dragonshowl that he gets TELEPORTED TO CHINA. He joins Kanami's group as its sixth ranger. Seriously.
Also, Log Horizon? Toyetic? The series doesn't even sell FIGURES (which SAO does by the way). Had there been actual merchandise, we would have had a better budget.

Do you guys read my posts or just skim them?
Anyway, I don't know how to describe it, then. There's just something about it I didn't like.

It's one thing to make a spectacle. It's another to make a difference.
Log Horizon has quite a bit of failings on the production side, pretty much the inverse of SAO. With the transfer to DEEN from Satellite, it's even more noticeable. That the raid episode turned out to be amazing is a testament to the S1 staff that transfered over to S2 as well.
Rule of thumb, Log Horizon has generally better writing but no budget (it airs on NHK E, a public education station), SAO has budget but its level of writing is on fanfiction power-fantasy.

I'd compare LH to Avatar. Air on a channel that's generally geared toward kids with aesthetic of a kid's show but have mature themes.
Episode 6:
- If there is a way to return to real life, I wonder if everyone will regain the memories they had to pay up...
- Rieze must've had a tough time. Intelligence, a useful asset. May also be a curse.
- Times continue to change. For better...and for worse.
- Lenessia and Akatsuki finally realized they were nutritionally imbalanced. Friendship was missing from their well-balanced diet. Now they can begin eating right.
- Good 'ol flavor text. Adding to world-building through the things it describes. Now everyone should really read the fine print before getting that brand new powerful weapon. Because right now, we have a dead Krusty and Sansa got disarmed.

That Haganemushi katana is pure hax lol.
If it goes how I think it will, then Akatsuki's only gonna need to get a single hit in to win.
We could see him though. Very well, too.
