It's like they made the Disney version into a video game or something...
Looking for some stories?A video game from 2005, no less.
Also, in the other trailers you see the setup for the story, and it doesn't make any sense. In virtually every other version of Tarzan he's raised by apes from infancy. In this one, the kid's like 9 when he's stranded in the forest by a helicopter crash. By that point he' probably be completely unable to adapt to life in the forest and being ape-like.
ok boomer.....Why does this exist?
I mean.. weren't the multiple adaptations enough to get the story through our heads?
Come on! Tarzan doesn't even look awesome in this one!
boop I'm more active on hereEh, it's OK. I'm not interested in Tarzan though. Even the Disney version, I only liked for the songs.
.... answer the following question with no joking......
..... this has absolutely nothing to do with Disney's adaptation right?? I really hope not. Because everything in the design of this movie reeks of a company trying to copy whatever Disney did with that movie and failing!
.... is this being released for spanish-speaking audiences? If so, why is the teaser's on-screen text in English??
I think it's going for a worldwide release. The text is in English, the channel is called "Trailers in Spanish," and the only trailer I could find with any actual dialogue was in German.
ICH TARZAN DU JANE
And no, it apparently has nothing to do with the Disney version, it just copied the whole design of the character. No ripoffs there, no siree Bob. And I'm going to say this again: Uncanny Valley. It's even there with the gorillas, which I didn't know was possible for humans to experience.

ok boomerUpdate: According to the Wikipedia article, this is a German-language film to be released on October 10th in Germany.
ok boomerWAS ZUR HÖLLE!!! .... errr I mean meh what an awefull waste, they could have spend that money to make a decent version of some German childbook like Momo or Tabaluga, but nooo lets make an Uncanny Valley CGI movie that ripps off a Disney movie, because Disney...

"Auf der Lauer auf der Mauer" would've honestly made a more interesting movie. At least bugs dancing on lookout towers would be fun to watch.
I don't even have anything against a new Tarzan adaptation, but this isn't a new Tarzan adaptation. It's a total ripoff of a Disney movie with a boring Corrupt Corporate Executive plot.
ok boomerOh God please don't tell me Tarzan is animated by motion-capture!!!! OH GOD!
In the first few seconds of the trailer, the music I heard was The Dark Knight mashed up with a few bars from Two Worlds, One Family. It's common to use existing scores for trailers when the music isn't finished, but throwing in Two Worlds One Family is just more copying.
Some of it looked mo-cap, but the knuckle walking looked too weightless to be real motion. Mo-cap isn't the problem, natural movements on unnatural character designs is the problem. It just worsens the uncanny valley effect.

Fresh-eyed movie blogSo... this is a Mockbuster of Disney's take, when Disney's take already has stopped being media relevant. Alrighty then.
Is this actually approved by Burrough's state?
Maybe they could get away with this if they didn't use Gorillas (in the book they were a made up species even changing it to bonobos or orangutans would accomplish the same effect)but right now I see nothing of this story that wasn't done in the Disney version.
The Crystal Caverns A bird's gotta sing.Is there a reason he's "walking"(for lack of a better term) with his hip sticking out like that?
This looks amazing. Loved Disney Tarzan. Also, apparently English-language according to the Wikipedia article you linked. Also it's coming out in 2013. :V
Kinda like this "one" movie I saw?
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceThe jungle environment is quite inspired and gorgeous to look at, but those character models look like they came out of an Xbox 360 game released in 2005 or 2006. Seriously, I'm getting Uncanny Valley vibes from looking at the characters' faces. The dialogue sounds a little suspect, but I'll reserve future judgement until it gets a US release (if it gets one; I have yet to see a date for its American release even though there are already dates for European and Asian countries). And that Tarzan scream in the middle of the official trailer when Jane gets pulled away by soldiers... Narm much?
EDIT: Gotta say though.... since when did any of Burroughs' Tarzan books have anything to do with extraterrestrial materials and/or beings?! From that plot point alone, I'm convinced they're not ripping off Disney so much as riding on the success of Avatar.
EDIT 2: Here's the new official trailer if you're interested.

Together, we are one.So it's basically "Avatarzan"note with bad animation, bad writing, and barely passable voice acting. (I did like the "You won't have to look for Tarzan, he'll find you," but other than that, it was just horrid.)
This totally needs to exist.
ok boomerthe trailer looks... unfinished. the animation looks slow and way too "floaty," some of the facial expressions hit right in the Uncanny Valley, and the dialouge sounds stilted.
All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not.since when did any of Burroughs' Tarzan books have anything to do with extraterrestrial materials and/or beings?!
IIRC, Burroughs once wrote a Tarzan/ John Carter team up book.

Oh my God, this looks like it'll be hilariously awful.
Question: If a tiny shard of the meteor can power the entire East Coast U.S....
- What's so wrong about them going to take some of it? It's not a natural part of the environment. In fact, I'm kinda surprised it's still there and some scientists haven't excavated it for evaluation since, you know, it's a freaking extraterrestrial object. Geez. (Unless that's why Jane & co. are there, to investigate it.)
- Why do they need to be forceful and put a gun to 'Zan's head to do this? That's just undiplomatic.
It's been there for 70 million years. That's way more than long enough to be considered part of the natural landscape, and could possibly have affected how the region has developed into what it is in the present. There's also the consideration on how extracting it will affect the surrounding environment. Also, depending on how human they make the gorillas, it could be considered a part of the cultural landscape of the region.
Every character looks so freakin' creepy. Like a living doll or something. It works in Toy Story but...not here. *Shivers* Also the story sounds reallllly stupid...
Say it with me now: Uncanny Valley.
