I'm going to suggest either Kamaji from Spirited Away, or a stock image. It's actually hard to find one of these without a watermark.

The latter is much clearer, though kind of boring looking.

[down]I like that one. Casual.

Here's another one. So many of these would be good, but most have watermarks.

I kind of prefer the stock image as the colour of the other one makes the arms less distinct.

I'd like Kamaji simply in preference of linking a work rather than a stock image.

[up][tup]

Generally, I think we should aim for images that can be sourced and potholed to a work.

[up] My order of preference as well...really don't like the obvious Photoshoppery in 1.2.

Is there a pic of Kamaji working the furnace anywhere? IIRC that showed him doing more things at once than just eating.

Here's one where he's preparing some herbs, but it's not enough arms for me. I have the movie, so I can grab a screenshot later.

[up] That's pretty good, too.

No to that one, because of @4.

I'm going to say [tup] to #9. It's a work which is preferable to a stock image as already stated.

Also I can see Kamaji's many arms quite distinctly, so I can only imagine that those who are complaining about them being indistinct or unclear simply have inferior displays (or failing eyesight).

I also have the movie so I can check and see if there are any better images.

Yeah, I'm not getting the "can't see the arms" complaint. They seem quite clear to me.

It's not "can't see the arms", it's "they stand out less".

[up]The many arms in 9 are quite clear enough to me. The only thing I'd try to do is get a version of 9 with Kamaji more (vertically) centered in the picture. A bit of the box in which the herb jars sit could be cropped to help focus more attention on Kamaji and his arms instead of on the jars.

I agree with [up][up]. And the pic in no.9 is rather unfocused.

How about a cropped version of this?

@18 looks interesting to me. On par with the sock photo.

Also, @15, my argument is on relative image quality, not absolute.

As much as I like Kamaji, I have to admit, 18 is pretty sweet. Should we go ahead and crowner this?

I too have a bias for Kamaji but I also have to admit that 18 is good and it's also clearer. If the majority want to go with 18, you can consider my vote changed.

Well, a majority of all ducks in the thread votes for 18.

Yes, that one is good. It gets a [tup].
