I love how that guy had trouble running Dos Box. Last I remember I dragged an EXE into the program and BOOM I was playing Police Quest! Hell, Steam does the legwork for you if you get the old Doom Duke Nukem, Shadow Warrior or Wolfenstein.
There's a version on Steam with all the expansions now, its called Megaton Edition. Pretty nifty. Open GL too.
