Hmm, strictly speaking, I'm not sure either trope applies to this image in this story. The rules that Batman generally dislikes guns or that he only uses them in extreme circumstances weren't yet established... due to the Early-Installment Weirdness.
Which is what the caption is pointing out. It just adds more context, for those who aren't familiar with Batman's dislike of guns.

Good work with the higher-quality image, btw. Looks much nicer now.
My only issues right now are that the image hangs past the trope description and that the note might be better placed toward the end than the very middle.
