I fixed the link. We've had two previous threads for this one. The first yanked the old pic (Ryu) and then clocked out. The second chose the current. I downvoted it then and I still don't like it; there's nothing there indicating that the person has become monstrous from fighting evil.

I still prefer the Cyke one from the previous thread.
Check out my fanfiction! That's my overall favorite as well.

This one◊.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanBased on the description, it seems that we'd need at least a sequence showing the heroic character's transformation to properly illustrate the trope without having to overly rely on the popularity/fame of the hero.
Something like this◊?
I have some difficulty figuring out where a given character's body ends there.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI wonder what that picture would look like to someone that doesn't know X-Men at all.
The text probably does enough to do the job (certainly better than current), but the image itself would be pretty meaningless to someone who doesn't know X-men.
Still has my vote.
Found a Youtube Channel with political stances you want to share? Hop on over to this page and add them. The current looks great. His reflection is a monster. We could give it a good caption like the words from your favorite pic.
^ I have to disagree. The reflection don't illustrate the transition from heroic to villainous. It can be seen as an evil split personality or something...
I'm thinking of something like this◊, but I don't think Anakin look like a hero enough in his early stages

That's honestly both problems I have the current explained.
Both the current and the Cyke one have flaws. The current doesn't show the transformation, and the other relies on knowing that's who he usually fights. With a good caption (which is built into the Cyke one) they both work. However, the risk for misinterpreting it as a different trope is higher with the current, I believe.
But considering it was chosen in a proper crowner, I don't have a problem with the current one, even if it's not the one I'd prefer.
Check out my fanfiction! That, and the current is meant for illustrate a completely different thing entirely.
So does that mean that images chosen through crowners are un-pull-able?
No, it means you better have a good reason for doing so.
Check out my fanfiction!I don't get karma meter from the current. It looks fine to me. I say KUPIS
The current image is great. Yes, it involves a morality system, but the point of it is clearly that you can easily become the monsters you fight.
But that's not this trope, this trope about acting like a monster, not necessarily being one. A good guy can be this trope as well if his methods to fighting evil are brutal enough.
I opened the last thread on this topic and proposed the Cyke-picture. Then silly me forgot to actually vote
Anyway, I'm still supporting it. The caption should be enough for those who don't know X-Men.
Certified: 48.0% West Asian, 6.5% South Asian, 15.8% North/West European, 15.7% English, 7.4% Balkan, 6.6% ScandinavianI kinda have a problem with this thread. It's not adding anything new, all it's doing is reopening a debate that's already taken place. The previous thread already had a vote involving the X-Men pic and the Fable pic, and the Fable pic won out. Why are we wasting time doing the same thing over again?
Because it's an ambiguous image that can be interpreted for multiple tropes and thus leads to discussion.
A discussion that we've already had. We're not even making new arguments, just rehashing the old ones. I'm sorry if the previous thread didn't get the result you wanted, but that's democracy for you.

This, if a image keeps getting brought up in here as needed changed it's probably not very good.

The results of the democracy change as people change and time goes on. If no one has any more suggestions we could have a crowner now and get this decided.
I like the X-Men one purely because I think it's very fitting, but to someone who doesn't know X-men, it'd probably be very confusing.
The image really doesn't illustrate this, it's showing two sides of a moral choice system.
