Hm, I'd say no. The fog makes the image blurry, and it rather diminish the impact of the pic. I'd prefer something clearer, like this

Personally, I always pothole an image in the sense of sourcing it. Whether the image is an example in just that one work or a whole franchise isn't really a factor.

I'd say the image should only potholed to the series if it's a promo image or fan art and unclear which movie it goes to.
I think an image needs to go someplace regardless of how obvious the subject might be for the reasons Sep mentions, franchise page seems fine.
