Upon doing a good amount of research, I think gonna give this an Oh Hell Yeah and half of my next paycheck. Holy fucking shit, Inafune, you badass. This is why I love gaming.

ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Hey, waitaminute. Wayforward is a Western dev and Inafune was talking about Japanese devs needing to learn from Western devs.
Hm...
Here's an idea that Comcept will probably never see: Use the rejected Call designs for other characters.
They still haven't revealed what the special bonuses are if they hit the 1.75m and 2.2m marks so maybe one of those will be a playable Call.
I just had a brainstorm:
What if he uses sprites modeled after the girls on MML 3 and have that added to Mighty #9's storyline in some way, like even an in-game Easter Egg. Mindblown, and a big middle finger to Cap Com again!
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceNow THAT would definitely bring out the lawyers.
The Rush & Roll look-alikes in the Kickstarter trailer was cheeky enough as it is.
Crazy funsters, that dev team. The Met hat Inafune was wearing already had me in stitches.
ALL CREATURE WILL DIE AND ALL THE THINGS WILL BE BROKEN. THAT'S THE LAW OF SAMURAI.Capcom doesn't own those characters, do they? Mega man, yes, but the other characters weren't even official canon, were they?

Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceThey are both canon and used often.
The Rush Coil is the only thing you get along with the normal shot in 9 & 10.
Damn. Was afraid of that. Well, he can just stick with the sprites he already has used.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceYou know, I do not mind another game that plays like Mega Man, or even another game with the exact same concept as Mega Man, though ripping the plot is pushing it a little more. (There is no evidence this will have a similar plot)
But it looks too much like Mega Man for a game that also plays like Mega Man for my tastes. Seriously, I am getting Captain Ersatz vibes something serious. Seriously, a scissor bot?
That's why he wants you to have the money. Not so you can buy 14 Cadillacs but so you can help build up the wastesThis isn't the first time this happened: Resources say there was a Bat Man NES game that played exactly like a Mega Man game.
Dakota's blog An odd agent of justiceScissor bot? All I've seen is the freezing water pump guy and the walking missile platform.
I have a message from another time...There's a glimpse of it in the video. There's a red and black robot with a pair of scissors sticking through its head.
Edit:Voila

Mega Man fanatic extraordinaire"The DMC fanbase went rabid with rage with Dm C."
You do know who was responsible for that, right? The head of Capcom R&D at the time, who was pushing for greater western influence on Japanese games, and said that the direction it was taking would "increase sales".
The same guy we're talking about here - Inafune.
My name has nothing to do with Psychonauts. This same guy seems to be taking a leaf from Wayforward, which is a Western dev. Should increase sales .
...so he listened to the fans' negative reaction to the DMC remake and decided to take the opposite approach here. IE: he's doing exactly what he said he would, while learning from the mistakes he's made in his past.
I'm not saying this game will be the best thing ever, but your pointlessly negative attitude doesn't actually contribute anything to this thread.

Nevertheless, DmC sold worse than DMC4, which sold 2.4 million copies in its first month. Before leaving, he said this of the Devil May Cry franchise:
''“Devil May Cry 5 is a game that, when started development, this will change a lot in relation to the above,” said Inafune.
“The reason is that, despite the franchise has some very loyal followers, their sales are not particularly high, especially overseas."''
DmC, inversely, ended up selling 1.1 million as of June, which was five months after release.
Look, I get why people are excited now. I'm not comfortable with this, but I understand why people want to do this. But please please please stop treating Inafune like he's some kind of saint, when he was a big part of many of Capcom's most recent unpopular decisions, some of which are very reminiscent of the perceived slights that were supposedly made against Inafune while he worked on the Mega Man franchise, like taking beloved characters out of the hands of creators that helped make them.
I'm not saying he's an evil man. That is EXTREMELY far from the situation at hand. But this is a kind of Fan Myopia that ignores and revisions history based on what fans want, which isn't fair to developers, to creators, or even to the fans ourselves.
Just please think of that, alright? That's all I'm saying.

My name has nothing to do with Psychonauts.
Um? I'm sorry, but going against that kind of mentality now that it's something involving the beloved character he managed to help create, as opposed to Hideki Kamiya's, is still kind of scummy.
By all means, support this. That's not what I'm saying anymore. Statements I made at the beginning of the thread were made in passion, and frustration, and I regret them. But I hold true to the belief that what he said before versus what he's doing now deserves to be taken into consideration, because if people forget, then we have trouble.
People mentioned Oswald and Walt Disney earlier in the thread. What comparisons like that ignore is that Walt Disney, not just the company, but the man, went on to do many of the things himself that so bothered him about Universal and Oswald. But no one talks about that when they talk about the triumph that was Disney "reclaiming their legacy" at all.
My name has nothing to do with Psychonauts.Thought it wasn't Walt that got the rights to Oswald back.
I have a message from another time...Inafune seems absolutely infatuated with the West. I can't help but wonder if his experiences working with Capcom has tainted his views on Japan's game industry. Heck he has once again recently bemoaned its state again, saying it had gotten "worse".
Inafune, I'm getting really sick and tired of you constantly complaining and worshipping the West's game industry, when it isn't better, and is in several respects worse. All I can say is that this game better be good, cause if it isn't, I'll be inclined to consider you nothing but hot air.
Both industries have massive problems. You need only to look at Call of Duty for easy comparisons to the situation at Capcom.
My name has nothing to do with Psychonauts. It's less Call of Duty as the problem than everyone trying to follow the example of Call of Duty. Which Capcom are tried to do.

A corpse should be left well enough alone...You don't see how Call of Duty can be compared to Capcom Sequel Stagnation? Not at all?
My name has nothing to do with Psychonauts.
Ya know, the immediate first impression was that this was a side story of sorts to the Mighty Switch Force series from the title and the art style. I wonder if Wayforward Technologies will comment on that.
