I am nervous for Mayor Cardinal...at first I wasn't sure if trying to open the Dog Park was such a good idea, but she was in the thing for a while and if anyone knows she would. And then the Council just dragged her off; that was pretty unnerving.

(Also, it bugged me a bit that Cecil didn't seem to care much about the fact that Dana was dragged off; it seemed inconsistent with his constant worry for her when she was in the desert.)

That was a mysterious and possibly dangerous desert.

This is good old safe mysterious secret council discussions and secret police disappearance crack downs. Just like the usual.

wild mass guess Pamela is Cecil's sister-in-law, when she was mayor he would get dragged into the arguments between her and her husband. Cecil probably thinks that if he shows concern for Dana on air it will reignite the tension in their marriage (which could upset Janice). wild mass guess

So a new episode came out today. And all I have to say is OH COME ON! I LIKED MAUREEN AND YOU DO THIS AFTER SHE HAD HER BREAKOUT EPISODE?!

... Um, this is an interesting one. I'm wondering if Beelzebub used to be a mayor of Night Vale and I wonder what that means for the town.

I'm also glad we're not losing ex-Mayor Pamela Winchell as a character.

Is the painted wooden sky a recent thing? Was that what Dana was busy with? If so it looks like Night Vale's astrologists are going to be out of work for a little while.

Why would anyone think a number would have a Wikipedia entry unless they already knew that the "23 enigma" thingy was a thing that existed to begin with?

I knew about it because of the Jim Carrey movie.

Wow, all I did was ask a question. No need to get snippy with me for not being well informed about stupid conspiracy theories. And, you know, asking because it appeared someone here was informed on the subject.

Anyway, I listened to five episodes in a row yesterday. It was quite a ride. Also Steve was funny.

So on his twitter Joseph Fink wrote that the new episode is going to be the most unusual show yet so I going to speculate about it.

wild mass guessIt isn't going to be the show proper, the mike in the studio gets turned on by a strex pet. Specify Kevin's strex pet, and it plays all the things that Kevin has said to it (assuming it has that function) for 20 minutes while suckling on the partially hard to get out blood stains on the desk.wild mass guess

I listened to August 1st's episode and then I read the transcript for August 15th's. I haven't had time to properly listen because... <.< Well, even when I'm home early from work, it seems like people are always asking me to do stuff and I wish I could say no.

Ahem.

It seems to be normal Night Vale in these couple of episode. But I wonder what will be unsual about this upcoming one.

Joseph Fink wrote some new tweets about the upcoming episode. It involves a new voice. Earl has been cast but his voice actor isn't going be in it. The title is "The September Monologues".

Sounds theatrical.

Edit:

I think the new voice could belong to something or some one called "September"

So I just listened to The September Monologues.

That was...uh...well...it was something. Definitely something. I think.

I liked it a lot, despite (or perhaps because of) my complete inability to describe or explain it.

I wonder if this is a taste of what the upcoming book might be like. Loved the weather from this one!

Yeah that was interesting, though the first part of The Faceless Old Woman Who Secretly Lives In Your Home monologue made me really glad my name is not Chad (I mean the Phantom of The Opera freaked me out extra for that reason, why did my parents decide on a relatively common that withstood the test of time, spelt different or not, without everyone saying my name, and apparently having a kidnapper after someone with my name).

I feel bad for anyone named Chad who listened to the first monologue.

So The thing that Chad summoned. It arrived in the part of the year assigned to Virgo. Do you guys think it is going to be referred to as "the virgin" in a later episode or would that not match the tone of the show?

Ok I listened to episode. I very strongly wanted to punch the second speaker the whole time she was talking.

Before I forget again, here is a section of the show that seems to be about the 23 enigma. It is in "The Woman from Italy"

"Think of a number. Any number. That number is how many thousands of years old a certain rock is. That number is how many times someone has cried in their life. That number is the lucky number of an unlucky man who is yet to realize he is unlucky. Think of a number. No, think of…numbers. Picture all of these abstract representations of human thought, all of them forming an imagined pattern, as all patterns are imagined, and picture how those abstractions describe, in specific ways, real moments that exist. Picture numbers." (he goes on about a woman for a bit, not sure if it was the women from Italy or not) "Think of a number. Yes! That’s the one! That’s the one that describes an infinity of disparate truths about our disparate universe."

I kind of related to her a little when she said she hated PATD, because I dislike them slightly through a combo of having not listened to hardly any of their music and seeing them in tumblr posts constantly, which I could fix so easily, I just haven't put in the research on either side of the problem. I have an small character flaw that I was ignoring I guess.
