It's very heavily scripted, I doubt they'll be able to have half as much of that stuff going on in the game itself.
This post has been powered by avenging fury and a balanced diet. That does look really damn cool.
nyo ho hoGame's out now (has been out since over two weeks ago), and people have said their case. They seem to like it, though it seems to have some flaws that drag it down a bit. What say you?
Here's a video playthrough from Total Biscuit that covers a lot of bases:

Dying Light's Enhanced Edition has just appeared on GOG, surprisingly. It's also available on Steam and other services.
I hear it adds a lot of stuff. What do you guys think?
So what's everyone's strategies for taking out volatile hives in The Following? Me, direct daytime assault and I exterminate every last of one of em.
I can never take the damn things on in a straight fight - not unless I'm armed with my best shotgun and I get lucky. They're freakishly fast, and they hit like trucks. Probably didn't help that I was playing The Following on the highest difficulty setting.
My strategy is always to just use the zombie-gore-camouflage ability to ninja my way in. I have every upgrade for it, so I can just make my way around with impunity, stealth-snapping a walker's neck and reapplying the stuff every time the duration starts to run out. If I do it right, I can be in and out without firing a shot.
"We'll take the next chance, and the next, until we win, or the chances are spent."Honestly where my two buddies who play this game always hide during the night, I purposefully pick fights with the volatiles. I think my kill count for them is in the 200-300 range, I'll have to double check.
Dying Light 2 announced. Haven't spotted a release date yet, though.
Woah, Chris Avellone? That's unexpected.
Having checked the premiere video, this is basically Dying Light: New Vegas.
Weird, from what I have read this is still supposed to be in the city in the first game years later but aesthetically it doesn't look like that to me. Hell I thought it was like London or something at first.
Hm, actually... it could be just a different part of the country. Though allegedly some folk say you can see the tower from the first game.
Nothing confirmed 100% yet on the dev side of things, though. Take the hearsay with a grain of salt.

(aspiring virologist in me, livid) GODDAMMIT, YOU CAN'T HAVE A VIRUS RANDOMLY "ESCAPE" FROM A BSL 4 LAB. Whole lot of people would have to look the other way and ignore ALL safety protocols.
That said, looking forward to this game. Loved the first; loved hunting Volatiles especially.
Considering how terrible your boss the authority figure was in the first game, it would probably make more sense as a deliberate release that got out of hand.
I wasn't super enthusiastic about the plot of the first game, but I loved the gameplay. And I do like Chris Avellone's stories, monologuing Villain Has a Point and all.

I have such a love/hate realtionship with this game. It's so much fun to play and it seems to be offended by my enjoyment and goes out of its way to piss me off. For every two cool parkour chases over the zombie horde there's a luck-based chase where guys are shooting at you. Pick the wrong direction? You're dead. Opps, you went the right way but this time they were accurate so you're dead.
I hate how blowing something up sends the fast zombies straight for you. I can be three blocks away from a grunt throwing a grenade and they come for me. I like the idea of the night zombies and they make things very tense...until you parkour too well away and they get a hitscan puke attack they can spam.
I played through the entire game a year or so back? I want to finish the expansions this Halloween, but I had no desire to continue the game right after finishing it. I wanted to beat it and just get away from all the bullshit.
Hoping the sequel is much better.
"But don't give up hope. Everyone is cured sooner or later. In the end we shall shoot you." - O'Brien, 1984You run from the Volatiles? I hunt those motherfuckers for sport. Between when I played it a few years back on Xbox, and recently on my new gaming PC, I think I've flatlined like some 500 Volatiles.
